ATHLETIC ASSN.: BOND ISSUE: ADJOURNMENT: ADJOURh~ MEETINC OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD TUESDAY, JULY 8, 19A7 Council Chambers, City Hall A:50 p.m. Present: Councilmen G. W. Holston, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi. The meeting was called to order at ~:50 p.m. Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting w~s dispensed with. As the Works Engineer and Superintendent of Streets recommended the acceptance of the sidewalks and curbs in High School Park Terrace #2 on Hillside Boulevard, Councilman Elder introduced a resolution accepting said sddewalks and curbs. This resolutdon was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Co~cil. As the Works Engineer and Superintendent of Streets recommended the acceptance of the work done in Elm Court, Councilman Hol~ton introduced a res0iution accepting all improvement work completed. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council. Councilman Sani introduced a resolution vacating resolution of intention No. 1229, Burl Burl #2. This resolution ~as adopted by th~ unanimous vote of all members of the City Council. Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution declaring the City's intention to improve the streets in Rancho Buri Buri ~PL~p #2. This 'resolution w~s adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council. Councilman Sani introduced a resolution 'referring to the Planning Commission an area in South City Village for the purpose of rezoning. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council. The Hartford Fire Insurance Co. submitted Proof of Loss in connection with fire truck damaged in colligion of September 18, 19~$ and asked that this release be signed by someone authorized to do so. On motion of Councilm~n Elder, seconded by Councilman Sani and regularly carried, Mayor Eeo Ferko was authorized to sign Proof~of Loss in the amount of $A363J2A. Mr. J. A. Johansen m~mitted statement in connection with improvement work in Elm Court in the amount of $19,91~.25. This ~,ount 'was to be divided amoung nine property owners which would make the City's proportion $2212.69. Councilman Sani moved, seconded by Councflman Holston that Mr. Johansen be paid'S2,212.69. The motion was regularly carried. Mayor Ferko stated he would like to have the South San Francisco Athletic Associat- ion Drum Corp commended for their activity in the Booster's Club Parade and also for their splended showing on ~ll previous occasions. He stated he would like the Council to go on record as commending these boys and that the names of all members of this drum corp be inserted in the minutes. Motion was made by Council- man Sani, seconded by Councilman Elder, that letter of commendation be sent to the South San Franc~sco Athletic Association and that the names 'of each individual of the association be inserted in the minutes. These boys are trained to fill in any position required. Robt. Bisagno Richard Manfredi Homer Gibbs Primo Berboldi Donald Hennesy Joe Bertoli Angelo CoSumbo Councilman Elder brought up the matter of going ahead with fire station, fire equipment and recrestion buildings, and suggested that a bond issue be brought before the voters at an early date. Architect Rowe was present and e~olained how far he had gone with the plans on these buildings and stated he would work up figures showing the ~dditional money needed to be. raised. After some discussion it was d%cided to hold.an election for these bonds sometime in September, probably September 16th~ bus no definite action was taken.
