Pursuant to adjourmT, ent, ~he City Council of the City of South San Francisco met in
regularly adjourned session at 2 o'clock p. m. on August 25, 1927.
There were present the following councilmen: C. ~. Holston, Chas. K. Elder, Adolph Sani
Emilio Cortcsi. Councilman Leo Ferko was sbsent.
Council~nan Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Sani that Counci]man Holston act as mayor
during the absence of Mayor Ferko. l,.'otion was regularly carried.
The ~eting was called to order by acting Mayor Holston.
City Clerk read title of proposed ordinance calling a special election in the City of South
San Francisco, which title read as follows:
"An Ordinance Calling a Special Election in the City of South San Francisco, County of San
Eateo, State of California, for the Purpose of Submittin~ to the Qualified Electors of the
City of South San-Francisco, A Municipal Corporation, Three (3) Certain Propositions to
Incur a Ponded Indebtedness to Pay the Cost of Certain Municipal Improvements and Acquisi-
tions in and for sa~d City as follows:
(1) The construction and equipment of a central police statio2 in said City of
South San Francisco.
(2)
The ~onstruction and equipment of a central f~re department station in sa~d City
and a fire department substation west of E1 Camino Real in said city, to?ether
with the acquisition of lands, buildings, furniture and equipment therefor, an
aerial service truck, a ~nping engine and other fire fight~n~ equipmest for
fire protection purposes of said City of South San Francisco~
(3) The Construction and equipment of three (3) Recreation buildings in said City
of South San Francisco.
Reciting tt~ Several Objects and Purposes for Which Said Indebtedness is Proposed to be
Incurred: The Es$imated Cost Thereof, And The Amount Of The Indebtedness Proposed To Be
Incurred Therefor~ Establishing Th, Election Precincts And Appointing Officers of Election."
Councilman Elder moved, ssconded by CounciLman Sani that the reading of the balance of the
ordinanc~ be dispensed withj Thi~ motion was regularly carried by the unanimous vote of all
members of the City Council oresent. Thereupon ordinance calling for Special Election was
adopted by said City Council by the followin~ vote: Ayes, Councilmen G. N. Holston, Chas.
K. Elder, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi. Councilman Leo Ferko was absent.
Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution approving diagrma for the improvement of Second
Lane. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of sll members of th,~ ~' ~

Acting ~yor Holston asked if there were a~ protests against work to be done on Second
Lane. There were none.
.Thereupo~ ~ouncilman Sani introduced a resolution approving assessment for improvement of
Second Lane. ~This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all m~bers of the City
CounCil present.
.~aiver.of provisions of special assessment and investigation, limitation and majority
protest act coverin~ Brentwood St~division #3 was accepted and filed.
Councilman Edder introduced a resolution 'adopting plans and specifications for streets in
Brentwood No. 3. This resolution was adopted by th.-. unanimous vote of all members of the
City Council present.
Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Sani that action on bids on improvement work
in Buri Buri No. 2 be postponed until regular meeting of the City Council September 2nd, 19£7.
This motion was regularly carried.
Councilman Sani introduced a resolution declaring the City's intention to do certain public
improvement work in the Subdivision known as Yrentwood #3. This resolution was adopted by
the unanimous vote of all members o.g the City Council present.
Fire ~hz~f )¢elte subraitted the name of M. Raggero for appointment to the Call Forces of the
Fire Dept. ~otion was duly~.made, seconded and regularly carried that the appointment of
M. Raggero be confirmed.
Communication was received from ~hzef of Police Belloni advzszng that Officer Joseph
Bildhauer had been absent fro~ duties since August ~th due to illness and he would be off
for a period of 60 days. This communication was ordered filed.
Mr. Brown, of the Barrett Division of Allied Chemical Co., addressed the council complain-
ing of drainage condition on and near the company's property. This matter was referred to
the ~rks Engineer for investigation and report.
A resident of Mayfair Village ~ddressed the City Council asking if it would not be possible
to park a trailer on his property till such time as he eould paint and arrange for sale of
same. He was advised that according to the ordinance this could not be done. It was therefore
suggested that the trailer ordinance be amended to permit the parking of trailers within
the city limits for a short period of time.
~r. LeFevre, of Foster & Kleiser, requested permission to move one of the company's signs on
the West line of Bayshore north of Linden Ave. to a point a short distance north. On motion
of Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Sani, permission to move this.sign was granted
Foster & Kleiser. The motion was regularly c~rried. Mr. LeFevre aEreed to su. bm~t a
written request for the City's file.

REPORTS:
ADJOURNMENT:
Acting Mayor Holston advised ~r. Uccelli that the Plannin~ Commission had not made a
report w~th reference to gasoline station on OldMission Road, and stated the matter
would be takendp at the next regular meeting. Acting4~¥or Holston also stated
that no report had been received from the Planning Oomm]ssion on the American Homes
Development ~o,~. request and same would be taken up at the regular meeting of Sept.
2nd.
On motion o? $ouncilman Sani, seconded by Councilman Elder, and regularly carried
