Present: Councilmen Ohaa. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi.
ABSent: Councilman G. W. Holston
The meeting was' called to order by Mayor Ferko at & p.m.
The City Clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the previous meeting to all
members of the City Council~ Mayor Ferko asked if a~y ~issions or errors were noted.
There being none the minutes were approved as submitted.
RESOLUTION ~1271
Z~ING:
Councilman Elder introduced a resolution fixing November 17th, 1947 at 8 p.m. as date
of hearing on proposed master plan for zoning. This resolution was adopted by the
unanimous vote of all members of the City Council present.

STOP SIGNS:
Councilman Sani introduced a resolution for the installing of traffic stop signs a~
various intersections in the city. This resolution wAs?addpted by the unanimous vote
of'all members of the City Council present.

DIAGRAM:
Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution approving the diagram of the property
benefited by the work described in re~olution of intention No.1189. This resolution
was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council present.

CONFIRMING ASSESSMENT
COMMERCIAL AVENUE:
Councilman Elder introduced a resolution confirming assessment for improvement work
performed under resolution of intention No. 1189. This resolution was adopted by the
unanimous vote of all members of the City Council present.

WORK~
Letter addressed to CityAttorney Coleberd from the League of California 8ities,
referring to Ordinances Nos. 169 and 170,was read. This letter advised that it was
the opinion of the League these ordinanceswere ~nconstitutional. This letter was laid
over until further hearing on the closing time of sto~es.
Communication was received from Cosgriff, Carr, McClellan & Ingersoll in answer to
letter addressed to the California ConstructOrs, Inc. regarding the posting of a
$5,000 bond for possible damage to the streets of Buri Buri ~1 during the improvement
work on Buri Buri ~2. These people declined to submi~ a bond of this kin~ as the
contract had already been let for the work in Buri Buri #2. This communication was
ordered filed.
Councilman Elder brought up the matter of repairing ~igns at the City limits. Councilman
Cortesi stated he had received tentative bid from a Burlingame concern along these lines,
therefore it was s~ggested that Councilman Cortesi have this parSy submit a bid in
~riting so that the matter could be taken up a~ the next regular meeting.
ADJOU~T:
Councilman ~ortesi brought up the matter of removing trees in various sections of the
town. It was the opinion of the ~ouncil that the removal of the trees shoul~ be at the
discretion of the Street Commissioner.
Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Sani that the Works Engineer be author-
ized to draw up map showing the major streets and other information as requested by
the Division of-Highways. Motion was regularly carried.
On motion of Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Sani, the meeting was adjourned to
Monday,. NoVember 3rd, 19~7 at ~ p.m. Time Sf adJouxllment - 5:10 p.m.
