W. Holaton, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, Emil~ o Cortesi. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ferko at 7:30 p.m. Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispensed with. Councilama Elder introduced a resolution that the City enter into a lease with the Golden ~te Theatre & Realty Corp. for the use of certain land as an auto- ~bile parking let. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council. Commm~ication was received from Chief of Police Belloni asking that examinations be held to establish an eligibility list for Captain, Sergeant and Patrolman in the Police Department. C~uncilman Sani moved, seconded by Co,mcilman Nolston that the Personnel Board be requested to call for examinations as specified. Motion was regularly carried. Councilman Sani introduced a resolution dedicating Orange Avenue Park as a living memorial to all those residents of South Ean Francisco who have Served our country in the First and Second World Wars. This'resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council. Communication from the League of California Cities with reference to business hours of commercial establishments, was read. Attorne~ Healey addressed the council stating his clients were ~n favor of a closing ordinance. Other citizens present also voiced their opinions and after some discussion Councilman Sani moved, seconded by Councilman Elder, that an ordinance be prepared repealing the present ~.C~dinances Nos. 169 and 170. Motion was regularly carried. It was then suggested that an ordinance be drawn up to meet the wishes of all con- cerned. Assemhlyma~ Dolwig requested that if such an ordinance was prepared that he be given a copy of same before it was presented for reading. The Council recessed for five minutes. Councilman Holston introduced a resolution approving memorandum of agreement for the expenditure of 1/& cent Gas Tax allocated for State Highways. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote eE all members of the City Council.
