ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD FRIDAY, APRIL ~, 19&8.
Council Chambers, City Hall

Present: Councilmen G. -N. Holston, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferk~, Adolph' Sani, Emilio
Cortesi.
The meeting was called to order by M~yo~ Ferko at &:30 p.m.
Reading of the minutes of the previous' meeting was dispensed with.
The application for a Drive-In Theatre, laid over from pre~ious meeting, was brought
up. Mr. Howell, of the Drive-In Theatre~ Corp., was present and agreed to the conditions
set forth in recommendation of the Planning C~mmission and stated he would submit
written confirmation. Motion was duly made, seconded and carried that permit be granted
providing Mr. Howell agreed in writing to certain improvements on South Canal Street.?
and Spruce Avenue.
The matter of awarding contract for the construction of the Recreation Buildings was
taken up. Monson Bros. were the lowest bidders at a figure of $81,929.OO. However,
as this was far above the architects estimate, it was decided no award could be made
at this time. Attorney Coleberd suggested that the contractor be contacted to see if
he would accept payment of the $15,O00, over the estimate price, over a period of y~ars.
Motion was duly made, seconded and carried that Architect Rowe and Attorney Coleberd
contact Monson Bros. along these lines. This matter was therefore 1Aid over until
report from these parties~
Motion was duly made, seconded and carried that Mayor Ferko be authorized to sign
release to the Hartford Insurance Co. for the repairs to the Fire Truck.
~ouncilman Cortesi introduced a resolution ordering improvement work on South Maple
Avenue. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City
Council.
City Attorney Coleberd stated that he would be out of town on the meeting night of
April 19th and advised he would have Attorney Rapsey of'San Bruno act in his place.
On motion of Councilman Sani, seconded by Councilman Holston, and regularly carried,
the meeting was adjourned to Monday night, April 19th at 8:00 p.m.
