ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD FRIDAY, AUGUST 6, 19&8.
Council Chambers, City Hall
&:30 o'clock p.m.
Present: Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani.
Absent: Councilman Emilio Cortesi.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ferko at &:30 p.m.
Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was dispenmed with.
Works E~gineer submitted plans and specifications for the construction of a sewer at
Bayshore Freeway under the overpass at Grand Avenue. Councilman Elder introduced a
resolution ordering the construction of a sewer at Bayshore Freeway under the overpass
at Grand AVenue, This resolution was' adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of
the City Council present.
Amendment to Ordinance No. 276 was tabled on the advice of the City Attorney.
On motion of Councilman Elder seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried the
vote adopting Ordinance No.' 276 was rescinded.
An ordinance licensing mechanical amusement devices was presented and read in its entirety
for the first time.
Cc~m_unication was received from the War Assets Administration enclosing two copies of
Letter of Intent covering the use and occupancy of Tract II Belair Shipyards. This
matter was referred to the Works Engineer and City Attorney.
Mr. Calegari of the South San Francisco Scavenger Co. addressed the Council with reference
to certain changes in the Company's contract with the City. After discussion the City
Attorney was instruCted to draw up a contract with the changes specified by Mr. Calegari.~
Councilman Elder reported that he and Councilman $ani attended the meeting of the City
Mayorsat Menlo Park, August 5th. This meeting was held for the purpose of discussing
sales tax throughout the County. Most of those in attendance were in favor of a sales
tax provided it was uniform throughout the County. The next meeting of the City Mayors
is to be held in South San Francisco.
On motion of Councilman Sani seconded by Councilman Boido and regularly carried the
meeting was adjourned to Monday, August 16, 19&8 at 8:00. p.m.
