ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN .FRANCISCO HELD WEDNESDAY SEPT~ER 1, 19k8

Present: Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Semi
Absent: Councilman Emilio Cortest_
The meeting was called to order by ~Mayor Ferko st 8:00 p.m.
The City Clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the meetings~ of August 16th and
18th to all members of the City Council, Mayor Ferko asked if any errors or omissions
were noted. There being none the minutes were approved as submiZted.
WAR ASSETS -
BELAIR PROPERTY:
RESOLI~ION NO. lj72:
Mr. James G. Chambers of the War Assets Administration was present and stated that the
Government would like to turn over the Belair property to the City at the earliest
possible date. He presented six copies of an agreement between the City of South San
Francisco and the United States of America which he asked that some city official be
authorized to sign so that he could take same with him. This agreement was read and as
the Council members were in accord with same, Councilman Elder introduced a resolution
authorizing the Mayor to execute this agreement between the City and the United States
of America. This resolution was adopted 'b~, the unanimous vote of all members of the
City Council present.

DISASTER ORD~INANCE:
The City Attorney advised that a ~eetin~ was 'he~d in his office between interested
parties with reference to plans and specifications on the sewage pre-treatment plant.
Mr. Davis was agreeable to turning over all papers provided the City would guarantee
payment for work performed. City Attorney stated he would draw up the necessary
resolutions, ~ut to e~pedite matters suggested that a motion be made along these lines.
Therefore, Cmmcilman Sani mJved~, seconded by Councilman Elder, that the agreement
between the city and John E. Estes be terminated on the basis that payment be made on
the actual work performed,' after deducting $500 as fee for service of sanitary engineer,
and also deducting such sum of money as necessary to make plans and specifications
conform to requirements of said sanitary engineer. This ~otion was regularly carried.
Communication was received from R. A. Rapsey, Chairman Republican County Central
Committee of San Mateo County, making application in behalf of the San Mateo County
CounCil for Republican Women for the erection of a temporary prefabricated building on
the empty lot nort~ of the Bank of South San Francisco. Motion was duly made, seconded
and c~rried that permission be granted to erect temporary building as requested, this
building to be removed on or before November 15, 19&8.
An ordinance Relating To Disasters was introduced and read in its entirety for the first
time.
BRIGNARDELLI-DELUCC~IO Communication was received from the ~lanning Com4ission granting use permit to Giovani
GREENHOUSE: Brignardelli and Julio DeLucchio for the erection of a greenhouse on Parcel 7 and 8,
Zone A. Motion was duly made, seconded and c~r~ied that the recommendation of the
PlamLing Commission be accepted.
PERSONNEL BOARD
P3ECO}~NDATIONS:
Communication was received from the Personnel Board advising t4at Lawrence Olivotti,
Richard Canziani and Arthur Rodondi had passed all phases of the examination for Police
Officer and their names were placed on the eliEibYe list; also that Louise Elliott had
passed examination for Typist-Clerk and'her name was placed on the eligible list. Motion
was duly made, seconded and carried that the recommendation of the Personnel Board be
accepted.
ADJOURN~ENT:
On motion of' Councilman Sani, seconded by Councilman Elder and regularly carried, the
meeting was adjourned to Tuesday September TtH at 8:00 o' clock p.m.
