Present: Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani~ Emilio
Cortesi.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ferko at 7:30 p.m.
The City Clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the previous meeting to all
members of the City Council, Mayor Ferko asked if any errors or omissions were noted.
There being none the min~%es were approved as submitted.
Communications were received from Alfred L. Medica and ArmandoPrusso, property owners
on Bayshore Highway, proteeting the passage of the Billboard Ordinance which was
introduced at a City Council meeting held February 21, 19~9.
Communications were also received from Garage & Service Station Employees' Union,
Local No. 665, and International Alliance Bill Posters, Billers and Distributors,
Local No. AA, protesting the passage of this ordinance. Mrs. Carlyle,representing
the Southwood '~Vomen's Club and Mr~.R.H. Wendell of the Painter's Union addressed
the City Council in protest on passage of the ordinance. Councilman Sani moved,
seconded by Councilman Boido, that the ordinance be tabled for further study.
Motion was regularly carried.
PROPERTY OWNERS
ASSN. - SOUTH LIS~)EN
AVE.:
A communication was received from the Property Owner's Assn. of South Linden Avenue,
asking for another date for a meeting with the City Council. Wednesday March 2nd at
7:30 p.m. was the new date set.
LEASING PORTION BELAIR The matter of leasing a portion of Belair property was brought up. The City Clerk
TO PAC. TELE & TELE CO: was instructed to write the War Assets Administration asking for a new Letter of
Intent extending'the time of final payment to November 15, 19~9, and permission to
lease a portion of the land to the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co.
RESOLUTION NO. 1~20:
Councilman Sani introduced a resolution ordering the construction of street improvement~
on Chestnut Avenue between Commercial Avenue and E1 Camino Real. The resolution was
adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council.
ADJOURNMENT:
On motion of Councilman Sani, seconded by Councilm~n Elder and regularly carried the
meeting was adjourned to March 7, 19&9 at 8:00 p.m.
