HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1949-03-29SPECIAL ~TING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ~;SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD TUESDAY, MARCH 29, 19&9. ROLL CALL: CALL TO ORDER: RAILROAD AVE. REPAIRS: RESOLUTION NO. 1229: A Special meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco was called for 8:15 o'clock p.m., March 29th, for the purpose of considering and acting upon a proposition to repai= the sewer at Magndlia Avenue and Railroad Avenne in said city, and the transaction of all other business which may regularly come before said meeting. Present: Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas. K. Elder, Leo Ferko, Adolph Sani, mmilio Cortesi. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Yerko at 8:15 p.m. Superintendent of Streets Schweini~ reporter that the sewer pipe and the bottom of the manhole at Magnolia Avenue and Railroad Avenue were broken and if not repaired considerable damage might be caused. Therefore, .Councilman Sant introduced a resolution declaring an emergency condition exiats and directing the Works Engineer to replace the damaged manhole and make any necessary repairs to the sewer line. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council. PAVING INSPECTION - FIREHOUSE: TRAFFIC - FIREHOUSE: Councilman Elder suggested that the Works Engineer be authorized to inspect proposed paving at the new firehouse. He was instructed to take the necessary steps. Mayor Ferko suggested that the traffic situation at the new firehouse be checked into. He appointed the Fire Commissioner, Fire Chief and Police Chief to check into this matter. PARKING METERS - GRAND AVENUE: ADJOU~T: Councilman Cortesi suggested that parking meters either be installed on both sides of Grand Avenue from Walnut to Spruce Aves. or that those on the south side be taken out. Mayor Ferko stated the parking matter should be checked into. Councilman Sani moved, seconded by Councilman Elder that the meeting be adjourned. This motion was regularly carried.
