Present: Councilmen Victor Boido, Chas. K. Elder, Adolph S~ni, Emilio Cortesi.
Absent: ~ayor". Leo Ferko
Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Boido, that Councilman Sani act
as Mayor due to the absence of Mayor Ferko. This motion was regularly carried.
The meeting was called to order by Atting Mayor Sani at 8:00 p.m.
It was regularly moved, seconded and carried that bids for the improvement of South
Linden Avenue be opened. The following bids were submitted:

After some discussion action on' these bids was laid over until Thursday evening.
Communication was received from the San Mateo County Traffic Safety Commission
'calling attention to complaint received from the Milk '~agon Drivers' Union regarding
the operating of ice-cream peddlers on the streets of various cities at night. This
complaint asked that the City Councils of the County do something toward controlling
night ice-cream peddling. It was regularly moEed, seconded and carried that the
recommendation of the San Mateo County Traffic Safety Commission be accepted and that
peddling on the city streets be discontinued after 7 p.m.
Councilman Cortesi and City Manager Larwood stated they had checked into the dump
situation and suggested that $30.00 per month be paid to the Scavenger Co. to keep
the dump open on Saturdays and Sundays. It was regularly moved, seconded and carried
that the Scavenger Co. be paid $30.00 per month starting October 1st to keep a men at
the city dump on Saturdays and Sundays.
On motion of Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Cortesi and regularly carried
the meeting was adjourned to Thursday, September 22nd at 7:30 p.m.
