Sanl, Emilio Cortest.
~The meetio~ w~s called to order 0y Mayor Ferko at 8:00 p.m.
Mayor Ferko explained that t~ a~em, ling of the contract for the
improvement of South Linden Avenae had been held up until certain
details were cleared .up. He stated t~he Council wished to go on
record that any further improvement of South Linden Avenue, in addition
to the work called for in Resolution No. 1~87, would ce on an assess-
ment basis and no money would be allocated from the Gas Tax Fund.
Messrs. Reese, Blythe and Hapsey were present. Mr. ~eese ami Mr.
Blythe were in accord with the plan outlined by Mayor Ferko.
Councilman ~ani introduced a resolution awarding contract for the
improvemen.t of South Linden Avenue to L. C. ~mith Co. This reso lutior_
was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council.

REJEOTING BIDS - STORM
DRAIN-OAK AVEhUYE:
S. P. RATE INCREASES:
The City Manag,r recommended that the'bids for the constr~ction of a
storm drain in Oak Avenue ce rejected. Therefore, Councilman Elder
introduced a resolution rejecting all bids for the construction of a
storm drain in Oak Avenue. This resolution was adopted by the
unanimous vote of all memoers of the City Council.
City Attorney Coleberd stated he had received a letter from Mr. Whitin~
with reference to Southern Pacific rate increases. He suggested that
a general committee should be formed to decide on what action should
be taken.
BOAT RENT ING - BEACH:
The City Manager stated a party had contacted him with reference to
renting boats at the beach and asked authority to deal with this
~a~ty. Ne action was taken but the Council suggested the City
Manager go into the matter further.
ADJOURNMENT:
On motion of Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Sani and
regularly carried the meeting was adjourned to Monday, October
1949 at @ p.m.
