Elder, Adolph Sani, Emilio Cortesi Absent: Councilmen Victor Boido, Joseph Bracco CALL TO ORDER: MINUTES: The meeting was called to order at 4:20 p. m. by Mayor Sani. City Clerk having forwarded copy of the minutes of the previous meeting of December 18, 1950 to all councilmen, Mayor Sani asked if there were any errors or omissions. There being none, the minutes were approved as submitted. ORDINANCE NO. 307 DEPUTY CITY TREASUP~: An ordinance creating the office of Deputy City Treasurer of the city came up for second reading. Councilman Cortesi moved, secor~ed by Councilman Elder and regularly carried, that this ordinance be read by title only. The Clerk then read the title of the ordinance: "AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF DEPUTY CITY TREASURER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO". This ordinance was adopted by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Charles K. Elder, Adolph Sani, ~mtlio Cortesi; Noes, Councilmen, None; Absent, Councilmen Victor Boido, Joseph Bracco, HOUSING AUTHORITY: RESOLUTION NO. 1615 LINDENVILLE: Communication was received from the H~using Authority attaching Resolution No. 199, requesting transfer of temporary housing; also presented were maps showing the property referred to. This communication was ordered filed; also the maps. Councilman Cortesi introduced a resolution approving request of the Housing Authority of the City of South San Francisco for the transfer of project CAL-4134 to the Housing Authority of the City. This resolution was adopted by the unan- imous vote of all members of the council present. RESOLUTION NO. 1616 GARBAGE DUMP: Councilman Elder introduced a resolution authorizing the execution of an agree- ment with South San Francisco Land and Improvement Company for garbage dump site in the city. This resolution was adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the council present. As Resolution No. 1616 made no provision for the execution of the agreement, Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Cortesi, that the Mayor and the City Clerk be empowered to execute agreement with the South San Francisco Land and Improvement Company. This motion was regularly carried. ANNEXATION OF STERLING MANOR: An ordinance approving annexation of Sterling~ Manor was introduced. On motion of Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Cortesi and regularly carried, this ordinance was read by title only and considered as the first reading--AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF STERLING MANOR TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO". ATKINSON BLDG. PERMIT: Communication was received from the Guy F. Atkinson Company submitting olans for a new office building to be erected at corner of Railroad and Oran.~e Avenues, and requesting building permit. Councilm-n Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Cortesi that building permit as requested by Guy F. Atkinson Company be granted, providing all building regulations are complied with. This motion was regularly carried. PURITY STORE BUILDING PERMIT: Communication was received from Don A. Younger, requesting permit for the cons- truction of a building at Linden and Lux Avenues for account of the Purity Store. On motion of Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Cortesi and regularly carried, permission w.~s granted providing all building regulations are complied with. P~NINSULA BUS LINE FARE INCREASES: Copy of application submitted by the Peninsula Bus Lines to the Public Utilities Commission for an increase in fares was received. Same was ordered filed. FEDERAL SOCIAL SECURITY CITY ~2~PLOYEES: CIVIL DEFENSE MEETING: As the Social Security Act had been amended to permit the coverage of government employees, the matter was brought up for consideration. Councilman Elder moved, seconded by Councilman Cortesi that same be referred to the City Manager for con- sideration by the city employees. This motion was regularly carried. The City Manager stated he had made reservations at Sacramento for Civil Defense Meeting to be held January Ath and 5th. ADJOURNMENT: On motion of Councilman Elder, seconded by Councilman Cortesi and regularly carried, the meeting was adjourned to January 2, 1951 at 8 p. m. Time of Adjournment - ~:55 p. m.
