The meetin~ was called to order by Mayor Rozzi at 8:04 p.m.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited, after which Invocation was give
& INVOCATION: by Councilman Francis Lucchio.
BOLL CALL:
Present: Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Andrew Rocca, Francis Lucchio, Emilio Cortes
and Leo J. Ryan.
Absent: None
APPOINTMENT OF
ELECTION BOARD:
Mayor Rozzi then remarked that State Law required the canvass of absentee vet
tonight and also to elect a Mayor and Vice Mayor. He said the first order et
business would be the forming of an ElectlQn Board. Councilman Lucchio then
mOved, seconded by Councilman Rocca and regularly carried, that the Mayor
appoint an Election Board to canvass the absentee ballots.
Mayor Rozzi then appointed Councilman Cortesi as Judge, Councilmen Lucchio a~
Ryan as Clerks, and himself as Inspector.
RESOLUTION NO. 2630 After the ballots had been opened, counted and tallied, City Attorney Noonan

The City Clerk then administered the oath of office to the newly elected
Councilmen, Andrew Rocca and Patrick E. Ahern, who then assumed their seats

Mayor Rozzi at this time stated that it would be necessary for the organizat3
of the Council to elect a Mayor and Vice Mayor.
Councilman Rocca remarked that the Council was working at present on several
projects as a team and he preferred in this case to defer the usual procedure
of the highest voted candidate being appointed as Mayor. Councilman Ryan
remarked that the Mayor had been involved as a leader of a team and was anxl¢
to see the projects completed. Councilman Ryan then moved, seconded by Coun-
cilman Cortesi and regularly carried, that Councilman Rozzi be reelected May(
to serve to the second meeting in April, 1959, and further that at the secon¢
meeting in April, 1959, the' next Mayor to be installed be Andrew Rocca.
Councilman Rocca then moved, seconded by Councilman Ahern and regularly car-
ried, that Councilman Leo Ryan be appointed Vice Mayor for the ensuing year.
Mayor Rozzi stated that it was a pleasure to serve as Mayor and he looked
ward to another year. He thanked the Council for the confidence placed in h~
and asked for the help and assistance of each for the Year ahead. He then
called on the elected candidates for a few words.

Councilman Rocca expressed his t~nks to the people for the support he recei~
expressing his thanks to those who helped him. He also cited the future gro~
which the City of South San Francisco was facing.
Councilman Ahem remarked that he would work as a member of the team for the
progressive ~rowth of the city and thanked the people who worked in his beha]
Mayor Rozzi then called on former Vice Mayor Lucchio, who said that his term
gave him a vast and tremendous experience, enjoying the term he served. He
also stated that the Council progressed as a board should. He briefly re-
marked on the differences of opinion that may have existed and the manner in
which they were resolved. He then extended his thanks to his family, espocis

Mayor Rozzi then called on Councilman Cortesi, who congratulated the newly
elected Councilmen, extended his wishes for their success, pledged his full
cooperation, requesting the same.
Councilman Ryan remarked on the orderly manner in which public offices are
changed, stating he was proud to have been a member of a team of five men as
always. He extended his special vote of thanks to Francis Lucchio for his s,
vices and requested that he offer his help wherever he could. Mayor Rozzi
extended his thanks to the people for their attendance, remarking that the
Council would do all in its power to meet its responsibilities.
ADJOURNMENT:
Councilman Rocca then moved, seconded by Councilman Ryan and regularly carri,
that the meeting be adjourned to April 21, 1958, at 8 p.m. Time of adjourn.
