HELD MONDAY, JANUARY 23, L961
5:00 p.l~.
Council Chambers, City Hall
The m~e~ing was called to order by Mayor Rocca at 5:12 p.m.
Present: Councilmen Andrew Rocca, Patrick E. Ahem, ana G. J. Rozzi.

The first item for Council's attention was a claim to the U. S. Post
Office in the amount of $250.00 to replenish postage in the Pitney-
Bowes meter machine.

that the claim be approved for payment.
City Attorney Noonan at this time stated ~hat if Council desired, they
coul~ take up the second reading and adoption of the ordinance which had
its introduction at the regular meeting o~ January 16, 1961 and which
amended ORDINANCE NO. 412. He explained ~he ordinance, stating that a
motion could be adopted by Council if they so desired that reading of
the ordinance in its entirety be waived and it be passed and adopted by
the reading of title only.
Councilman Rozzi so moved, seconded by Councilman Ahem and regularly
carrie~.
City Attorney Noonan then stated a motion could be adopted by Council
and that the ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 412 ~NTITLE~ 'AN ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO REGULATING TRAFFIC UPON
THE PUBLIC STREETS AND THOROUGHFARES OF SAID CITY AND ESTABLISHING TRUCK

dated ~uly 14, 1960 -- all of which concerned previous request made to
Council at their regular meeting of July 18, 1960 by Raymond DeNardi
requesting permission to construct a retaining wall on City property
near DeNardi ~ay in the Alta Vista Subdivision. City Attorney Noonan
expla£ned previous Council action at their regular meeting of July 18,
1960 ~n granting the request conditioned on the execution of an agree-
ment by Mr. DeNardi holding the City harmless and protecting the City's
interest would have bound him perpetually to hold the City harmless.
He suggested Council could adopt a motio~ that Council modify their order
of July 18, 1960 to provide for a two-year maintenance agreement and bond
from ~he developer of Alta Vista Subdivision and providing for the obtain-
ing of consent from the owner of the adjoining lot, Mr. Capelli, to the
installation of the retaining wall.
CounciLman Rozzi so moved, seconded by Councilman Ahern and regularly
carried.
City A~torney Noonan requested that before Council proceeded on to the
matter of the Resolution of Intention concerning the Annexation of
Calla2 Park, the City Clerk report that a petition for the annexation
of uninhabited territory designated as 'Callan Park", duly executed,
had be~n filed as of January 23, 1961 an¢ further that a report from
the 3.o~ndary Commission, dated January 19, 1961, had been received
certifying as to the definiteness and certainty of the boundaries and
further that a letter of transmittal fron the Boundary Commission had
been received, dated January 19, 1961, reporting the districts in which
the proposed annexed territory lies. The City Clerk so reported that the
mentioned documents had been received by his office.

petition for the annexation of the uninhabited territory designated as
"Calla~ Park" on January 23, 1961 and the Boundary Commission report and
letter of transmittal as reported by the City Clerk.
Coun:ilman Cortesi appeared present at the meeting at 5:21 p.m. and
