City Attorney Noonan explained the second resolution which was ready

City Manager Aiello gave a compilation of the bid3 received for the
South San Francisco Marina land. taping at Oyster Point· remarking that

City Attorney Noonau explained the resolution, which Councilman Rocca

Compilation of bide report wa~ received fro~ the Director of Public Works
on the 1963 street lighting modernization for the Buri Buri residential
area. The City Manager declared the alte_-nate bids received.
Mayor Ahem remarked that the matter had l~en discussed at the study
~eeting earlier; since ~arlmlite poles ~ere in the area already and not
wishing to change the type of pole it wa~ decided to make the award to
the Bay Area Electric Comt~ny for the inswallation of the ~arBelite poles.

There being no objections, Mayor Ahem at the request of the City Attorney
deferred this rotter to the next regular C~ucil meeting.
The City Attorney explained the next resolution, after which Couacilmau

City Attorney Noonan explained the Ot~INAFCE which was ready for
second reading and aAolrtion, stating that a motion could be adopted
by Council if they so desired that reading of the OI~)INANCE in its
entirety be waived amd that it be passed and adopted by the reading
of title only. Councilman Rozzi so moved~ seconded by Councilman
Rocca and regularly carried.
City Attorney Noo~an then remarked that a motion could be adopted by
Council that the ordinance entitled: "AN OBDINANCE OF T~E CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ESTA~LISBING TRAFFIC PEGULATIONS AND REPEALING
$OPm~S~ED O~DINANCES" be read for the second time by title an~ Be
passe~ an~ adopted, the rea~ing in its entirety having been duly
waived. Councilman Rocca so moveS, seconded by Councilman Rozzi,

City Attorney Noonan then explained the Ot~INANCE which had been

and introduction. He stated that &motioc coul~ be adopted by COuncil

The next matter for Council attention ~as the request by 8umdberg
Building Corporation to the Planning Cc~milsion for changes in architec-
tural plans for eM apartment building on ~rtnge Avenue an~ "A" S~n~et
as co~tinued frnn the meeting of Se~r 3, 1963.
There being no objections, Mayor Ahem referred the matter to the! City
Manager, the City Attorney, and the Planning Commission and requested
that a meeting be arrange4 with the eontr~mtor and purchaser to conclude
this subject.
Letter d~ted September 25, 1963 was received fr~ the Women's American
orr (Organization for rehabilitation through training - Peninsula Region)
requesting permission to conduct a fund-ratsing candy sale during~ the
mouth of November, 1963.
Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by CounciDsan Bertucelli and regularly
carried, that the request as made be approved.
Letter dated September 13, 1963 ~s receiv-d from the Town of Colma with
& request for permission to connect to exi-.ting sanitary sewer service
for Holy Croes Cemetery.
There being no objections, Mayor Ahem referred the matter to the City
Manager to work out the details with the Town of Colma, with action to
follow at the adjourned meeting to be held on Momiay, October 1~, 1963.

for the City.

$5,203.25 ~as received as filed by Walter C. Worthington of 120 Clay
Avenue, South San Francisco, on behalf of his daughter, Wands, for
alleged injuries from a stor~ drain cover.

carried, that the elai~ be denied and referred to the insurance carrier
for the City.
Inter-office ~emorandum dated September 2~, 1963 was received from the
Planning Co~aission recc~--ending tentative approval of the annexation
'of the uninhabited lands of Westborough.

carried, that the recommendations of the PlanningC~ssionbe approved
and accepted.

USE I~T Resolution No. 16~8 was received from the Planning Coamzission
recommending approval for the request of Club View Apartments to erect a
10' x 2~' unlighted sign at 925 E1 Camino Real in a "U" district' subject
to the condition that the sign remain for the period of construction only
on a ores-year renev~ble basis.
Councilman Rozzi moved, seconded by Councilman Bertucelli and regularly
carried, that the rec~ndations of the Planning Coeezission be approved
and accepted.
Inter-office memorandum dated October 2, 1963 was received from the
Director of Public Works recommending change or~er No. 2, Glanville
Construction Cc~ny, for Pumping Plants Project II.
There being no objections, Mayor Ahem referred this matter to the City
Attorney.

There Being no objections, Mayor Ahem ordered the report filed.
There Being nothing further, Mayor Ahem e~ked if any member of the
Council had something to offer under Goo~ an~ Welfare.
There being none, Mayor Ahem invi~ everyone to view the new Marina
and its facilities. He remarked that he feels it is one of the best in
the area and one of which the people of S~uth San Francisco can be proud.
The Mayor then asked if anyone present in the audience wished to offer
scuething under Good an~ Welfare.
There Being none, Councilman Rozzi moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca
and regularly carried, ~-~at the meeting be adjourned to October 1~, 1963
