Ahern at -:~0 p.m. Present: Absent: Councilmen Patrick E. Ahera, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, G. J. Rozzi, and ~nkBertucelli. None, Mayor Ahem declared the Public Hearing opened on the removal of weeds from private property, asking if any written protests had been received to which the City ~lerk replied none had been received by his office. He then asked if anyone present in the audience wished to register a protest. There being none, Mayor Ahem declared the Public Hearing clgsed. City Attorney Noonan then explained the resolution which had been prepared concerning the removal of weeds, after which Councilman Bertucelli introduced a r~solution entitled "A RES- OLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIT~ OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ORDERING REMOVAL OF WEEDS FROM PARCELS OF PRIVATE PROPERTY AND PUBLIC PLACES". Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, G. J. Rozzi, and ~ank Bertucelli. Noes, none. Absent, no~e. City Attorney Noonan then explained the next resolution ready for adoption, after which Councilman Rozzi introduced: "A RESOLUTION DIRECTING CORRECTION OF TYPOGRAPHICALERROR IN THE FOURTH PARAGRAPH, ON PAGE B, OF RESOEUTION NO. 3757". Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, G. J. Rozzi, and Frank Bertucelli. Noes, none. Absent, uo~e. City Attorney Noonan at this time brought up the matter of the Devincenzi Annexation stating that Council, if they wished, could first initiate the action by motion after which is could adopt its Resolution of Intention. Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman Rozzi and regu- Larly carried, that the City Council initiate the annexation of the uninhabited territor~ known as "Devincenzi Territory". City Attorney Noonan then explained the resolution, after which Councilman Rocca introduced: "RESOIUTION DECLARING THAT PRO- Cw~w~INGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO TO ANNEX TO SAIE CITY OERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED ~DEVINCENZI TERRITORY~ AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ~ATION~. Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, G. J. Rozzi, and Frank 3ertucelli. Noes, none. Absent, ncne. ~ity Attorney Noonan then explalaed the nex~ resolution ready for Council action, after which Cou~cilmaw Rozzi introduced: ~'RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING COMPLETIO~ OF SERVICES OF PLANNING CONTRACTOR IN A MANNER SATISFACTORY TO THE CITY OF SUUTH SAN FRANCISCO". Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, G. J. Rozzi, and ~rank 3ertucelli. Noes, none. Absent, none. 3ity Attorney Noonan at this time brought up the matte~ of the resolution concerning the City-School C~ntract. DiscuSsion followed at which time the City Manager explained the changes Nhich had been made. After discussion, Councilman Bertucelli moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca and regularly carried, that the matter be held over until Couucll heard further from the School Board after their meeting totight and to meet with them later to further discuss the matter. ORDINANCE -- FIRE ALARM SYSTEM AND BOXES: 1st Reading/ Iu troduc tion (~VIS~D) SEWER CONNECTION REQUEST -- EPISCOPAL CHURCH COUNTRY CLUB PARK: AD JOURNMENT: City Attorney Noonan then explained the ordinance concerning Fire Alarm System and Fire Alarm Boxss which was ready for first reading and introduction, stating that this was a re- introduction and new first reading bscause the ordinance as originally presented had been revised. He remarked that the Council could adopt a motion that tb~ ordinance be introduced by the reading of title only and the reading of the ordinance in its entirety be waived. Councilman Rocca so moved, seconded by Councilman Bertucelli and regularly carried. City Attorney Noonan then stated that a motion could be adopted that an ordi- nance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ESTABLISHING REQUIREMENTS FOR FIRE ALARM SYSTEM AND FIRE ALARM ivS'' be introduced, reading in its entirety having been duly. ed. Councilman Rocca so moved, seconded by Councilman Ber- tucelli and regularly carried. Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, G. J. Rozzi, and Frank Bertucelli. Noes, none. Absent, none. Letter dated October 1, 1963, was received from Father Norman Barbour, Vicar of St. Elizabeth's Chmrch, requesting to conNerS into the Cityts sanitamy facilities in the Country Clublarea, agreeing to annex to the City when r~quested and agreeing to the payment of capacity interest charges. Accompanying was an Znter-0ffice Memorandum dated 0ctobe? 9, 1963, from the Director of Public Works recommending connection and setting forth the charges and the location of the connection. City Attorney Noonan commented that 3ouncil could adopt a motion authorizing the connection by the Protestant Episcopal Church with the requirement they pay the necessary charges with a re- port to be submitted to Council on aay refund and in accordance with the Memorandum of the Director df Public Works dated Octo- ber 9, 1963. Councilman Rozzi so moved, seconded ~y Councilman Rocca and regularly carried.
