The next matter to come to the atten';ion of Council was the
Baden Crossing Lot Annexation which .~ad been continued from
the meeting of January 6, 1964.
There being no objections, Mayor Ahe~n continued the Public
Hearing to the next regular meeting since this was part of
the proposed Valley Park Annexation matter.
Mayor Ahern issued a proclamation en;itled: "A PROCLAMATION
designating the week of February ? through 13, 1964, as

Mayor Ahem issued a proclamation entitled: "A PROCLAMATION

The next item for Council's attentimn was the second reading
and adoption of an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE APPROV-
ING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED
t DEVLNCENZI TERRITORY ANNEXATIONt T9 THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO".
/.There being no objections, Mayor Ahsrn continued the second
reading of the ordinance pending receipt of the consent to
assume indebtedness, which was to b~ received from the peti-
tioners.
City Attorney Noonan explained the ordinance which was ready
for second reading and adoption, stating that a motion could
be ad~pted by Council if they so desired that reading of the
ordinance in its entirety be waived and that it be passed and
adopted by the reading of title only. Councilman Bertucelli
so moved, seconded by Councilman Rozzi and regularly carried.
City Attorney Noonan then remarked that a motion could! be
adopted by Council that the ordinarce entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
0F THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISC0 AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 150
OF SAID CITY PASSED AND ADOPTED THE 1ST DAY OF APRIL, 11929,

City Attorney Noonan then explained the ordinance which had
been prepared for Council's attention and was ready for its
first reading and introduction. He stated that a motion could
be adopted by Council that reading of the ordinance in its en-
tirety be waived and that it have its first reading and intro-
duction by the reading of title only. Councilman Bertucelli
so moved, seconded by Councilman Rezzi and regularly carried.
City Attorney Noonan then stated ttata motion could be adopted

City Manager Aiello stated that the Director of Public Works
had recommended the acceptance of ;his Agreement.

Public Works be approved and accepted.
Letter dated January 6, 1964, reoelved from Judge F. Jose de

USE PERMIT Resolution No. 1673 was received from the Planning
Commission recommending permission be granted for the request
to construct a temporary sales office in garage of a model
home; and to allow an additional mcdelhome in Westbo~Ough
~ O ~ O Unit No.(3,1) Lot 18, Block 30, subject to the following condi-
tions: That if the homes on either side of the sales office
are to be occupied, the applicant shall provide not less than
six off street parking spaces for use of the sales office;
(2) That the subject permit be gra~ted for one year with the
provision of renewal; and (3) When the need for garage sales
office ceases, the house should be remodeled for use as a
single family residence.

the Director of Public Works recommending final acceptance of
the ~ork done by Lowrie Paving Company, Inc. on the Linden
Avenue Storm Drain and authorization of Notice of Completion
and final payment less 10 percent retention to be ~ithheld
for 35 days after date of acceptance.
Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman Bertucelli and
regularly taxied, that the recommendation of the Director of
Public Works be approved and accepted and authorization made
for the filing of a Notice of Completion.
Inter-Office Memorandum dated January 15, 1964, received from
the Director of Public Works recomnending approval of the
grading plan for Sunshine Gardens Subdivision No. 11, subject
to the condition that slopes be planted ~ith erosion control
planting.

the Director of Public Works concerning the St. Elizabeth

Church.

regularly carried, that the recommendation of the Director of
Public Works, as contained in Memorandum dated January 8, 196~,
be approved aed accepted.
Inter-Office Memorandum dated January 10, 1964, received from
the Harbor Superintendent recommmnding acceptance of the land-
scaping at the Marina by the Sacramento Landscapers.
Councilman Rocca asked if there was only one contractor who
had filed a letter, to ~hich City .~anager Aiello replied that
only rue had filed stating he had not been paid by Sacramento
Landscapers.
Councilman Rozzi moved, seconded b~y Councilman Rocca and regu-
!arly carried, that the recommendation of the Harbor Superin-
tendent be approved and accepted ~d the filing of a Notice
of Completion authorized.
Compilation of bids received for one pickup for use by the
Se~er Department.
City Manager Aiello declared the bids received, recommendin~
award to the lo~ bidder.

There being no objections, Mayor Ahem ordered the reports

There being nothing further, Mayor Ahem asked if any member of
the Council had anything they wished to offer under Good and
Welfare.
Councilman Cortesi commented that JAst before the meeting he
had received a call from the residents of 121 Francisco Drive
who twice previously, and now again, were being flooded by

Mayor Ahem asked the City Manager ~hat preventative Steps
could be taken by these people, to ~hich he answered that the
front could be sandbagged. He also explained that when Colma
Creek flows over this occurs becaus~ the home is below the
level of the creek.
Further discussion followed, at which time the City Manager re-
marked that the serious areas are known to the Street Depart-
ment and when flooding occurs the department goes to those
areas first. Mayor Ahem then stated that this pointed out the
serious need for the formation of the Flood Control DiStrict.
There being nothing further~from Co, ancil, Mayor Ahe~n asked if
anyone in the audience had anything they wished to offer.
There being none, Councilman Rozzi moved, seconded by Council-
man Rocca and regularly carried, t~t the meeting be adjourned
to Februar~ 3, 1964, at 8:00 p.m.
