Ahern at 8:03 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. Present: Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Frank Bertucelli, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, and Guido J. Rozzi. ~bsent: None. PUBLIC HEARING - WESTBOROUGH INHABITED AREA: Mmyor Ahem stated that the meeting this evening had been adjourned from the previous evening at 8:00 p.m. and concerned the Protest Hearing for the West- borough Inhabited Area Annexation which had been set by Resolution iNo. B928. N~ declared the Public Hearing opened, asking if any written protests had been received, to which the City Clerk replied none had been received bY his office. ~e then asked if anyone present wished to register a)~rotest. There being hone, Mayor Aheru declared the Public Hearing closed. ~r. Saciotes asked concerning the street wifths in the subdivision to which the Mayor answered that he believed Mr. Saciote~ was referring to the area already in the City and that this was the area alre~y built upon and occupied by resi- dents. This was satisfactory to Mr. Saciotes. RESOLUTION NO. 3967 NO MAJORITYPROTEST WESTBOROUGH INEABIT~ AREA ANNEXATION: ~ity Attorney Noonan then explained the resclution which had been prepared, after which Councilman Rocca introduced: "CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRAN- CISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA - ARE SOLUTION DECLARING THAT A MAJORIT~PROTESTHAS NOT BEENMADE IN TBEWESTBOROUGH INHABITED AREA ANNEXATION". Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, ~Frank Bertu- celli, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, and Guido J. Rozzi. Noes, none. Absent, none. ORDINANCE -- WESTBOROUGH INHABITED AREA - SPECIAL ELECTION: 1st Reading/ Introduction City Attorney Noonan next explained the Ordinance which had been prepared and was ready for first reading and introduction, stating that if Council wished the date for the Special Election would be s~t for August 11, 1964. He stated ~hat a motion could be adopted by Council that readim~ of the ordinance in its entirety be waived and that it have its first reading and introduction by the reading of title only. Councilman Rozzi so ~oved, seconded by Councilman Bertu- celli and regularly carried. City Attorney Noonan then stated that a motion could be adopted that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE OFT HE cITY OF SOUTH SAN I~ISCO CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE ~D ON THE llTHDAY OF AUGUST, 1964, PERTAININGTOTNEANNEXATION OFT HE 'WESTBOROUGH INHABITED ABEA, TO TEE C_-TY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO" be introduced, reading in its entirety having been d xlywaived. Councilman Bertucelli so moved, seconded by Councilm~n Rocca and regularly carried. Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem, Frank Bertu- celli, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca, and Guido J. Rozzi. Noes, none. Absent, ~one. GOOD AND WELFARE: ?here being nothing further, Mayor Ahern askmd if any member of the Council had anything they wished to offer under Good and Welfare. DISCUSSION - SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT: Councilman Cortesi asked if an agreement had been reached with the Westborough ~eople concerning the contribution of $~50,000.00 for their share oif the Sewage _~r_eatment Plant. Mayor Ahem commented that this was something that Council had negotiated sometime ago with the developers ~f the area when the City wished to first annex the whole territory and which, b~cause of referendum petitions, the City lost and could no longer obtain. City Attorney Noonan briefly explained the agreement as mentioned by the Mayor, a_~ter which, there being nothing further from any member of the Council or any ~erson in the audience, CounciLman Rozzi mov~d, seconded by Councilman Rocca and regularly carried, that the meeting be adjourned to Monday, June 15, 1964, at J:OOp.m. TIME OFADJOURNMENT: 8:15 p.m.
