HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1966-02-28ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 1966 TIME: PLACE: CALL TO ORDER: ROLL CALL: RESOLUTION NO. 4402 ADOPTING ENGINEER'S REPORT: RESOLUTION NO. 4403 REQUESTING ELECTION SERVICES: RESOLUTION NO. 4404 PROVIDING FOR GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION APRIL 12, 1966: 5,30 p.m. Council Chambers, City Hall The meeting was called to order by Mayor Bertucelli at 5:35 p.m. Present: Absent: Councilmen Frank J. Bertucelli, Patrick E. Ahern, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca and Guido J. Rozzi None City Attorney Noonan remarked that Council had before them the matter which concerned a resolution with regard to Cabot, Cabot & Forbes Industrial Park Unit No. 2. Ken Jones, attorney representing the Assessment District, briefly commented on the matter of the report which had been received from the District Securities Commission on the feasibility of the project and that Council, if they so desired, could pro- ceed with the final action on the formation of the district. He explained the resolution which had been prepared after which Councilman Rozzi introduced: "A RESOLUTION AND ORDER ADOPTING ENGINEER'S REPORT, CONFIPu~ING THE ASSESSMENT AND ORDERING THE WORK AND ACC~ISITIONS - CABOT, CABOT & FORBES INDUSTRIAL PARK UNIT NO. 2." Roll call vote was as follows~ Ayes, Councilmen Frank J. Bertucelli, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca and Guido J. Rozzi. Noes, Councilman Patrick E. Ahern. Absent, none. City Attorney Noonan then explained the next resolution which had been prepared for Council's attention and which concerned the matter of the municipal election which was to he held on April 12, 1966, after which Councilman Rozzi introduced: "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE COUNTY CLERK OF SAN MATEO COUNTY TO RENDER SPECIFIED ELECTION SERVICES PURSUANT TO THE ELECTIONS CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND TO FURNISH VOTING MACHINES." Roll call vote was as follows~ Ayes, Councilmen Frank J. Bertucelli, Patrick E. Ahern, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca and Guido J. Rozzi. Noes, none. Absent, none. City Attorney Noonan then explained the next ~esolution which likewaise concerned the matter of municipal election, after which Councilman Rocca introduced: "A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON THE 12TH DAY OF APRIL, 1966, DESIGNATING AND CONSOLIDATING PRECINCTS, DESIGNATING POLLING PLACES, APPOINTING PRECINCT ELECTION OFFICERS AND OTHER RELATED MATTERS." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Frank J. Bertucellt, Patrick E. Ahern, Emilio Cortesi, Andrew Rocca and Guido J. Rozzt. Noes, none. Absent, none. 883 KAISER ALUMINUM CORP. USE PERMIT P.C. RESO. NO. 20275 LEAVE OF ABSENCE ROY R. GHILARDI 5 ACTION AS FILED BY MR. CROSARIOL~ AD3OURNMENT5 RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED, ~~ ~erk City Manager Aiello, at this time, mentioned to Council that a Mr. Gober was present to speak on the matter of an application for a Sign Permit for the build- ing owned by Kaiser Aluminum Corporation on Sou~h Airport Boulevard and which appeared at a previous meeting and had been held over pending a review of existing signs in the area. Mr. Gober explained to Council that the sign was to replace one that previously existed but which would be smaller in size, that the Planning Commission had recommended approval and that his client, Kaiser Aluminum, were quite anxious to obtain identification on their building. After brief discussion, Councilman Rozzi moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca and regularly carried that the recommendation of the Planning Commission be approved and accepted and permission granted. Inter-Office Memorandum dated February 23, 1966 as addressed to Chief Building Inspector and City Manager.was received from Roy R. Ghilardi requesting a leave of absence from February 24, 1966 to 8530 a.m., April 13, 1966. This carried the approval of the Chief Building Inspector. Cotncilman Ahern moved, seconded by Councilman Rozzi and regularly carried, that the request he approved and the leave of absence granted. City Attorney Noonan then brought to Council's attention the matter of the Court action as filed by the attorneys for Mr. Crosariol, property owner in the Stonegate Ridge Assessment District, suggesting that a motion he adopted that the matter be referred to the bond counsel to take whatever action was necessary in this matter. CoJncilman Ahern so moved, seconded by Councilman Rocca and regularly carried. There being nothing further, Councilman Rocca moved, seconded by Councilman Ahern and regularly carried, that the meeting be adjourned to March 7, 1966 at 8500 p.m. Time of adjournment5 5535 p.m. APPROVED~
