Mayor Ahem called the adjourned regular meeting to order at 5:06 p.m.
Present: Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp.
Absent: Counci~men Frank J. Bertucelli and William A. Borba.
City Attorney Noonan stated that the purpose of the meeting this afternoon was,~o declare
the election results of the Special Municipal Election which was held Tuesday, September 15,
1970. He further remarked that the records indicate the receipt of the Certificate of the
City Clerk and the receipt of the Certificate of the County Clerk of Record of Votes Cast
within the City of South San Francisco at the Special Municipal Election held on
September 15, 1970; a~d that the Minutes reflect the filing of the Certificates in the record.
The receipt of the Certificates and their filing is herewith so noted.
City Attorney Noonan then explained the resolution which had been prepared after which
Councilman Steinkamp introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION CA2~¢ASSING RETU~NS
AND DECLARINGRESULTS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPALELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO ON SEPTEMBER 15, 1970."
Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, F. Frank Mammini and
Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, Councilmen Frank J. Bertucelli and William A. Borba.
City Attorney Noonan then requested that the records show, in accordance with Section 22933
of the Elections Code, the following information that the measure voted upon read as follows:
Shall the Legislative Act of May 18, 1970, which reads as follows: "That the City
of South San Francisco and County of San Marco proceed with construction of the
overpass at the intersection of West Orange and Camaritas Avenues alongwith the
construction of Westborough Boulevard," be adopted~
and that the whole number of votes cast in the City; the n~er of votes given at each pre-
cinct for and against the measure; and the. number of votes given in the City for and against
the measure were as follows:

DISCUSSION REGARDING Acting City Manager Laurence Ross at this time discussed with Council the matter of adve'~-
ADVERTISING FOR POSITION tising for the position of City Manager, asking as to what qualifications Council desires,
OF CITY MANAGER: to what extent they wished the advertisement to be made, and the closing date for applications

California, the closing date would be October 31, 1970, that the Leagme of California Cities
~~~ O wouldbe contacted for the names of any applicants which theymight have, as well as

Acting City Manager Ross then brought to the attention of the City Council the matter of
compensation for the Acting City Manager during the interim period. It was agreed by Council
that this matter would be discussed and decided upon at the next meeting.
There bei~ nothing further and there being no objections, Mayor Ahern ~dJourned the meeting
at 5:18 p.m.
