ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD THURSDAY, APRIL 27, 1972 TIME:. · 6:00 p.m. PLACE: Council Chambers, City Hall. CALL TO ORDER: .M~yor Mammini called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. ROLL CALL: ADJOURNMENT TO EXECUTIVE PER- SONNEL SESSION: RECALL TO ORDER:- Present: Absent: Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, C~rdon T. Boblitt, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp None Mayor Mammini recessed the meeting to an Executive Personnel Session at 6:01 p.m. The meeting was recalled to order by Mayor Mammini at 9:03 p.m. with all Council present. RESO. NO. 5832 RESCINDING THE APPO I NTMENT OF FIRE CHIEF: RESO. NO. 5833 AMENDING RESO. After an explanation, Councilman STeinkam~ introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION RESCINDING THE APPOINTMENT OF FIRE CHIEF." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Gordon T. Boblitt, F. Frank Mammini, and Warren STeinkamp. Noes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahem and William A. Borba. Absent, none. The next resolution was explained after which Councilman STeinkamD introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 5728 (REPRESENT- 5728 ENTITLED 'A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER TO ATIVES TO MEET MEET AND CONFER IN ACCORDANCE WITH GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 3500 ET SE©., & CONFER): AND APPROVING DELEGATION OF CERTAIN PERSONNEL OFFICER'S DUTIES.TM Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, William A. Borba, Gordon T. Boblitt, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. APPOINTMENT OF At this time, Councilman STeinkamp moved, seconded by Councilman Ahern ASST. FIRE CHIEF and regularly carried, that, in accordance with Personnel Rules and ZYLKER TO ACTING Regulations, Rule 9.06, Assistant Fire Chief Derk Zylker shall be FIRE CHIEF: provisionally appointed Acting Chief of the Fire Department on the retirement of Chief Marchi, said appointment to take effect on May II, or May 12, 1972,,or other date as designated by the City Manager, and the City Manager is further authorized to increase the salary of said provisional apDointee to a sum commensurate with said duties, not to exceed Step C in Range 80. RESO. NO. 5834 DESIGNATING CLASSIFICATION CHANGES & JiNSTRUCTING PERSONNEL BD. RE OPEN EXAM- INATION FOR FI~ CH!~F: RESO. NO. 5835 OPPOSING PROP. A - SOUTHERN CROSSINg: City Attorney Noonan explained the resolution which had been prepared after which Councilman Steinkamp introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CLASSIFICATION CHANGES AND INSTRUCTING THE PERSONNEL BOARD REGARDING AN OPEN EXAMINATION FOR CHIEF OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT." Discussion followed concerning changes. Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Gordon T. Boblitt, F. Frank Mammini and Warren STeinkamp. Noes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern and William A. Borba. Absent, none. After an explanation, Councilman Steinkamn introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION OPPOSING PROPOSITION A - SOUTHERN CROSSING." Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, Gordon T. Boblitt, William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. PERMISSION TO ADVERTI SE AND ANNOUNCE EXAM- INATIONS FOR POSITION OF DI RECTOR, PARKS & RECREATION: City Manager Dreisbach requested permission of Council, by Minute Motion, to advertise and announce examination for the position of Director of Parks and REcreation. Brief discussion followed after which Councilman Steinkamp moved, seconded ~by Councilman Boblitt and regularly carried, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise and announce the conducting of an examination for the position of Director of Parks and Recreation. Councilman Borba moved, seconded by Councilman Boblitt and regularly carried, that the meeting stand adjourned.
