NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the adjourned regular meeting of the Cit~
Council of the City of South San Francisco held on the 19th day of September, 1973,
was adjourned to Monday, the 24th day of September, 1973, at 7:30 p.m., in the Council
Chambers, City Hall, 400 Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, California.

Mayor Steinkamp called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.

Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern, William A. Borba, F. Frank
Mammini, Terry J. Mirri and Warren Steinkamp
None
The first item was the Inter-Office Memorandum dated September 13, 1973
from Administrative Staff submitting compilation of bids and recom-
mendation for award of contract for the Valverde Slope Correction.
Administrative Assistant to the City Manager Michael Wilson declared
the bids had been received and recommended award to Joseph Kaplin,
Inc., as the Iow bidder.
Brief discussion followed concerning the work to be done after which
Councilman Ahern introduced the resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION
OF AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR VALVERDE SLOPE CORRECTION."
Roll call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern,
William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri and Warren Steinkamp.
Noes, none. Absent, none.
City Attorney Noonan at this time brought up the matter of a Resolution
concerning a quit claim deed from Utah Construction,& Mining Company
for the underlying fee to Colma Creek and North Canal Street.
After a brief explanation, Councilman Borba introduced the resolution
entitled: 'A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM UTAH CON-
STRUCTION AND MINING COMPANY."
Roll Call vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Patrick E. Ahern,
William A. Borba, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri and Warren Steinkamp.
Noes, none. Absent, none.
The next matter was the compilation of bids received and recommendation
of award of contract for the Colma Creek Interim Improvements.

Mr. Fred Hull of the VTN Corporation explained the bid opening,
stating that only one bid had been received, that of McGuire and Hester,
which was high. He explained to Council negotiations which were being
conducted with three local contractors to perform the work at less cost,
and recommended a 24-hour delay to finalize these negotiations.
Discussion followed among Mr. Hull and Members of the City Council
after which, there being no objections, Mayor Steinkamp stated that
this meeting would be adjourned upon tonight's conclusion to Tuesday,
September 25, 1973, at 4:30 p.m.

SONNEL SESSION:
Acting City Manager Alario requested an Executive Personnel Session
with Council prior to adjournment to discuss land acquisition and
labor negotiations.
RECESS:
There being nothing further, Mayor Steinkamp recessed the meeting to
an Executive Personnel Session at 8:20 p.m.
RECALL TO ORDER: The meeting was recalled to order by Mayor Steinkamp at 9:30 p.m,,
with all Council present.

SESSION:
Mayor Steinkamp announced that during the Executive Personnel Session,
land acquisition, land uses and personnel problems had been discussed.
_There being nothing further before Council, Mayor Steinkamp adjourned
the meeting to Tuesday, September 25, 1973, at 4:30 p.m.
