The meeting was called to order by Mayor Battaglia at
6:48 PM.
Present: Councilmen Richard A. Battaglia, F. Frank Mammini,
Terry J. Mirri, Leo Padreddii and Warren Steinkamp.
Absent: None.
The City Manager at this time requested the City Council's
consideration to the claim for final payment to the Valley
Sheet Metal Company in the amount of $6,750.50.
After a brief explanation by the Director of Public Services
Councilman Mammini moved, seconded by Councilman Mirri and
regularly carried that the claim be approved.
The City Manager next brought up the matter of the recommenda-
tion from the Council of Mayors to the effect that the
City Council go along with their recommendation that the
Executive Director's position with the Bay Area Sewer
Services Agency not be filled at this time but that they
consider using the staff of the Association of Bay Area
Governments.
After discussion Councilman Padreddii moved, seconded
by Councilman Mirri and regularly carried that such a
letter be sent.
The City Manager brought to Council's attention a letter
from the Chief of Police to Senator Gregorio regarding a
bill prohibiting the seizum of dogs on private property.
He requested that the Mayor send such a letter also.
There being no objections it was so ordered.
The City Manager next brought to Council's attention a
letter from Wallace Pettigrew extending an invitation to
be present at presentation of the historical fire bell
on February 22, 1976.

PARK SOFTBALL FIELD
The City Manager stated that very shortly the Chief
Building InsPector would be submitting a report on the
report which was recently made by OSHA.
The City Manager requested the City Council authorize the
execution of an agreement with the Chamber of Commerce.
Councilman Mammini then introduced a resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION
AND THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE REGARDING
ADVERTISING PROGRAMS FOR JULY 1, 1975 TO JUNE 30, 1976.
Roll Call Vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Richard A.
Battaglia, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri and Warren
Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none. Abstained, Councilman
Leo Padreddii.
The Director of Parks and Recreation in detail explained
the items of work to be done, the alternates, and the cost
for corrections. Lengthy discussion followed between the
members of the City Council and City staff. Speaking in
this regard also was Parks and Recreation Commissioner
Edward Rickenbacker as well as Theodore Tronoff who prepared
engineering plans.
After discussion Mayor Battaglia commented that it would
be in order for a motion to accept the recommendation and
to adopt and make the repairs as the recommendations go
with the money that is budgeted for this year up to that
certain point.
Councilman Padreddii so moved, seconded by Councilman Steinkamp.
Discussion followed after which Councilman Mammini suggested
that it be inserted that it be done provided the funds
are available.
After further discussion Councilman Mammini suggested that
the motion be modified to include in the motion a master
plan so that the City does it right once and for all.
Councilman Padreddii amended his motion to include the
modification. Councilman Steinkamp seconded the amendment.
Motion as made, modified and seconded was regularly carried.
Staff Report, dated February 4, 1976, approving plans and
specifications and call for bids for improvements to Orange
Memorial Park softball fields.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND CALLING
BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO ORANGE MEMORIAL PARK SOFTBALL FIELD.
There being no ObjectionsMayor Battaglia deferred action
on this matter.
Council next took up the matter of a resolution for KQED
Week in the City during the week of April 3, 1976 to
April 11, 1976.
Councilman Padreddii introduced a resolution entitled:
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING KQED WEEK IN THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO -- APRIL 3RD THROUGH APRIL 11, 1976.

Roll Call Vote was as follows: Ayes, Councilmen Richard A.
Battaglia, F. Frank Mammini, Terry J. Mirri, Leo Padreddii
and Warren Steinkamp. Noes, none. Absent, none.
There being nothing further to come before Council Mayor
Battaglia adjourned the meeting.
Time of adjournment was 8:15 PM.
