Motion to approve the minutes of March 12, 2003
Motion to confirm expense claims of March 26, 2003 in the amount of $8,968.88
Motion-Fernekes/Second-Garbarino: To approve the Consent Calendar as submitted.
Unanimously approved by voice vote.
PUBLIC HEARING
3. Consideration of Amended Redevelopment Agency Implementation Plan; approve
resolution
Public hearing opened.
Staff report and visual presentation given by Housing and Community Development
Consultant Armando Sanchez.
In response to Mayor Pro Tem Matsumoto's questions regarding the presentation, staff
clarified that the plan includes non-Agency projects and improvements in the four-
redevelopment areas, such as the BART station and several public art pieces. In
response to other questions, staff stated that the Agency has purchased seven of the
Willow Garden apartment buildings and then reviewed each of the properties assembled
as a result of.Mid-Peninsula's affordable housing feasibility analysis. Agency Assistant
Director Van Duyn explained that the plan is to meet the objectives of redevelopment and
to be in compliance with redevelopment law. Executive Director Wilson reviewed
several infrastructure improvements and confirmed that there are several Agency
activities still on-going.
Mayor Gonzalez asked for the status of the Hillside/Spruce affordable housing unit and
staff stated a City employee has purchased it.
Public hearing closed.
Motion-Matsumoto/Second-Garbarino: To approve Resolution No. 02-2003, adopting
the amended implementation plan for the City's four redevelopment project areas.
Unanimously approved by voice vote.
