CODE TO PROVIDE FOR QUICK LUBE
SERVICES

by the selection of a new Mayor and
Vice Mayor by the Council.
CONSENT CALENDAR
M/S Nicolopulos/Drago - To approve the
Consent Calendar.
Carried by unanimous voice vote.
ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS
City Attorney Armento stated that this
was really a legislative item, and was
before the Council - not on the Consent
Calendar because it was a split vote at
the time it was introduced, otherwise it
would be Consent Calendar.
Councilwoman Teglia stated that she was
under the impression that they were
amending the zoning ordinance to allow
for this type of use, and was mystified
why we have a particular applicant men-
tioned here because by no means was this
an approval of that application.
City Attorney Armento stated that it was
really not supposed to say Spee Dee James
Siegler, and was only amending Title 20
of the Municipal Code.
M/S Nicolopulos/Penna - To adopt the
ordinance.
ORDINANCE NO. 1091-90
Carried by majority roll call vote,
Councilwoman Teglia and Mayor Haffey
voted no.

Closed session for the purpose
of discussion of personnel matters,
labor relations, property nego-
tiations and litigation.
ITEMS FROM COUNCIL

Both Motions were carried by unanimous
voice vote.
Mayor Drago thanked his friends and the
Council for giving him this opportunity
to serve the City as Mayor once again.
He vowed that he would devote all of his
time and effort on the City's behalf. He
stated that as time went by he would
outline his personal goals and would make
Council work assignments.
He thanked former Mayor Haffey for his
efforts in holding down a full time job
and being Mayor of this City. He pre-
sented him with a plaque with a gavel,
and a tie clip with a gavel; he said
that one member of Council had gone out
and bought him a tie clasp that was a
set of handcuffs for his position as
Acting Police Chief of Belmont.
He stated that this was his last hurrah
because he did not plan on running any-
more when this term was up, and proceeded
to introduce his family.
M/S Penna/Drago - To appoint Councilman
Gus Nicolopulos as the Vice Mayor.
M/S Teglia/Haffey - To close nominations.
Both Motions were carried by majority
roll call vote, Councilman Haffey voted

Request to adjourn the meeting to
Wednesday, 12/12/90, at 7:10 p.m.,
in the Municipal Services Building
Community Room, 33 Arroyo Drive,
for the purpose of the presentation
of Public Safety Awards.
ADJOURNMENT
Vice Mayor Nicolopulos expressed his sin-
cere and most cordial gratitude, and
stated that he considered it a great
honor to serve the City as Vice Mayor.
Meeting adjourned to Wednesday, 12/12/90,
at 7:10 p.m., in the Municipal Services
Building for the purpose cited.
Time of adjournment was 7:43 p.m.
