Call to Order 7:04 p.m. 2. Roll Call Present: o o (Cassette Tape No. 1) Councilmembers Femekes, Green and Matsumoto, Mayor Pro Tem Gonzalez and Mayor Mullin Absent: None Oral Communications Mayor declares the purpose of the meeting a. Post colors - presented by Robert Hilliard, Boy Scout Troop 617 and Jeremy Hilliard, Cub Scout Pack 617 b. Pledge of Allegiance c. Invocation - Reverend Bill Justice, Pastor of All Souls Church Reorganization of the City Council a. Nominations for Mayor; close of nominations; selection of Mayor Motion-Femekes/Second-Matsumoto: To nominate and select Mayor Pro Tem Gonzalez as Mayor. Unanimously approved by voice vote. bo Remarks from Outgoing Mayor, passing of the gavel to Incoming Mayor and a presentation to Outgoing Mayor Outgoing Mayor Mullin introduced his family, reflected upon the past year as Mayor and seven years on Council. He summarized Council's accomplishments achieved during that time and recognized the Councilmembers he had worked with. He stated he looks forward to his new position in the State Assembly, that it has been a privilege to serve the people of South San Francisco, and will continue to work for them in Sacramento. (Outgoing Mayor Mullin exchanged seats with Incoming Mayor Gonzalez.) Co Council presented Outgoing Mayor Mullin with several girls including a Resolution in recognition of his term in office from November 10, 1995 -November 20, 2002. Nominations for Mayor Pro Tem; close of nominations; selection of Mayor Pro Tem Motion-Femekes/Second-Green: To nominate and select Councilwoman Matsumoto Mayor Pro Tem. Unanimously approved by voice vote. d. Incoming Mayor's remarks Mayor Gonzalez stated his goals for the coming year include working with the business community and to encourage new job opportunities. He will be looking to the City to expand and upgrade educational resources in the community. He stated his priority for the coming year is to promote a better understanding of our City government in order to better serve the citizens of South San Francisco. Mayor Gonzalez announced a reception following adjournment. 6. Adjournment Motion-Matsumoto/Second-Femekes: To adjourn the meeting at 7:38 p.m. Unanimously approved by voice vote.
