VINTAGE california
Our design is a response to northern California’s wine
country landscape and the periodic clearing of vines that
have lost favor or popularity. This removal of vines is a
process whereby large excavators scrape the earth clear of
vines, posts and wires and then pile them up to be burned.
Witnessing this take place while visiting wine regions left a
strong and lasting memory with us. The rustic beauty of the
region and the interdependence of the wine growers, the
vines and the surrounding natural ecosystems inspired us.
The vine orb, which is the centerpiece of the design, is
constructed of old vines that have outlived their value to
the vineyards. The stone and plants are from the region.
The Garden
Layers of Planting
Fountain & Glass Bottle Paving
Plant signs hand-stamped on wine cases
Reclaimed wood bench in stone wall
A team effort celebrated by all!!!!
