HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 03-2004RESOLUTION NO. 03-2004 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND FINANCE DIRECTOR TO SIGN DOCUMENTS ENABLING THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO TO ENTER INTO THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC ENTITY INSURANCE .JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY (CPEIA) TO ALI,OW THE CITY TO OBTAIN EXCESS WORKERS' COMPENSATION INSURANCE COVERAGE AND AUTHORIZING A POLICY THROUGH CPEIA FOR APPROXIMATELY $140,444 ANNUALLY WHEREAS, the City pays for workers' compensation costs out of the Self Insurance Internal Service Fund and bills departments for their prorated share based on claims history. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager and Finance Director to sign documents enabling the City of South San Francisco to enter into the California Public Ehtity Insurance Joint Powers Authority (CPEIA) to allow the City to obtain excess Workers' Compensation Insurance Coverage and authorizing a policy through CPEIA for approximately $140,444 annually. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 28th day of January 2004 by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSTAIN: ABSENT: Councilmembers Joseph A.
