Item 1. City Councilmember Karyl Matsumoto
City Councilmember Karyl Matsumoto asked BPAC to consider including more community
involvement groups when seeking input about projects and letters of support. Councilmember
Matsumoto also said that every major development project should be presented to BPAC before
it goes through the planning process and especially before Council. This will allow BPAC to
determine how to make the plans bicycle and pedestrian friendly.

BPAC’s ideas about pedestrian crossing on El Camino.
Item 2. Bicycle Friendly Community Sign- Recommend locations for installation
The committee was asked to give feedback on where the 18x24 community signs should be
located. It was recommended that Oyster Point, S. Airport Blvd., E. Grand Ave., Hickey Blvd./
Junipero Serra, and McLellan would get the most visibility.

The committee decided to see how testing in San Mateo goes before thinking about locations in
South San Francisco.
