Mayor Matsumoto presented certificates and prizes.
· Proclamation: National Historic Preservation Week, May 3-9, 2004 - Councilman
Gonzalez presented proclamation to Commissioner Frank Vieira
· Special Olympics' Representative Ms. Angie Calderon presented the Police Department
with a certificate of recognition for providing volunteer coaches and raising funds for
the program has totaled over $11,000.
· State of the City - Mayor Matsumoto gave a visual overview of the City's current
budget, current development, transportation programs and the City's future outlook.

Councilmembers reported on attendance at community events, announced upcoming events and
fundraisers, and acknowledged members of the community for their contributions.
Councilman Garbarino reported that he attended the San Mateo County Emergency Services
meeting. He stated that a request was received from Genentech, Inc. to partner with the County
with a program to store emergency diesel fuel in the un-used Olympian oil tank and that
Genentech would pay for the fuel.

1. Motion to approve the minutes of April 14, 15, and 19, 2004
2. Motion to confirm expense claims of April 28, 2004 in the amount of $2,656,506.53

roads from the County of San Mateo
Motion to accept the Gull Drive/Forbes Boulevard Traffic Signal Project in accordance
with plans and specifications
Resolution No. 36-2004, awarding a five year auditing services contract to Maze and'
Associates for fiscal year ending June 30, 2004 through June 30, 2008

Acknowledgement of proclamations issued: Arbor Day, April 17, 2004; Police Reserve
Officer Appreciation Day, April 23, 2004; Police Services Volunteer Appreciation Day,
April 23, 2004
Motion-Gonzalez/Second-Green: To approve Consent Calendar items 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6.
Unanimously approved by voice vote.
COUNCIL COMMUNITY FORUM
Councilman Gonzalez asked that a report on the status of the Colma Creek correction work be
agendized for the May 12, 2004 meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
Being no further business, Mayor Matsumoto adjourned the meeting at 8:16 p.m.
