HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 100-2004RESOLUTION NO. 100-2004 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING $67,500 IN GRANT FUNDING RECEIVED FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA BUSINESS, TRANSPORTATION & HOUSING AGENCY MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY AND AMENDING THE 2004-2005 OPERATING BUDGET WHEREAS, staff recommends accepting $67,500 in grant funding received from the State of California Business, Transportation & Housing Agency made available through the Office of Traffic Safety; and WHEREAS, the objectives of the grant are to reduce pedestrian and bicycle fatal and injury collisions near schools and parks in South San Francisco; and WHEREAS, the grant provides a total of $60,000 to purchase all equipment necessary to install the radar feedback signs; and WHEREAS, the remaining $7,500 is added to the grant award by OTS to cover the expenses of sending the grant program manager and program administrator to attend two mandatory OTS seminars. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council accepts $67,500 in grant funding received from the State of California Business, Transportation & Housing Agency made available through the Office of Traffic Safety and amends the 2004-2005 Operating Budget to add $67,500 to the Police Department's budget. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 13th day of October 2004 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Joseph A. Femekes, Richard A. Garbarino and Pedro Gonzalez, Vice Mayor Rawnond L. Green and Mayor Kalwl Matsumoto NOES: None. ABSTAIN: None. ABSENT: None. ATTEST:
