Call to Order 6:30 p.m. 2. Roll Call Present: Councilmembers, Garbarino, Gonzalez and Matsumoto, Mayor Pro Tem Femekes and Mayor Green Absent: None Staff present: City Attorney Mattas and Assistant to the City Manager Susan Kennedy 3. Public Comments: None Interview applicants for the Historic Preservation Commission, Housing Authority, Parking Place Commission, Parks & Recreation Commission, Personnel Board and Planning Commission Council agreed to postpone Item No. 5, and to continue the recruitment period to an unspecified date in January, to be determined by the City Clerk. Mayor Green stated he will inform each applicant of this decision and to further inquire if there are any other boards/commissions an applicant may be interested in and did not specify on the application. Council interviewed the following applicants and asked the questions that are consistent with those approved April 2004: 6:45 p.m.: 6:50 p.m.: 7:03 p.m.: 7:10 p.m.: · 7:18 p.m.: · 7:28 p.m.: · 7:35 p.m.: Bertha Iskra (Historic Preservation Commission) Frank Vieira (Historic Preservation Commission) stated he was also interested in the Planning Commission and Design Review Board. Harry Gidwani (Parks & Recreation Commission) stated he was seeking an appointment to the Planning Commission. Pablo Gonzalez (Parks & Recreation Commission) Gary Levene, stated he was interested in the Planning and Parks & Recreation Commissions Salvador Rodriguez (Parks & Recreation Commission) Barbara Irli (Parking Place Commission) (Recess: 7:42 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.) · 7:45 p.m.: · 7:55 p.m.: · 8:03 p.m.: · 8:14 p.m.: · 8:20 p.m.: · 8:25 p.m.: · 8:34 p.m.: Chuck Elliott (Personnel Board) stated if not reappointed to the Personnel Board he would accept appointment to the Conference Center, Historic Preservation or Parks & Recreation Commissions Rich Ifli (Personnel Board) Katie Phuong Vu-Ng stated her interest was in the Planning Commission and Mosquito Abatement District, but was flexible and would accept an appointment to the Personnel Board Judith Honan (Planning Commission) Rick Ochsenhirt (Planning Commission) Eugene Sim (Planning Commission) Marc Teglia (Planning Commission) (Recess: 8:47 p.m. - 8:54 p.m.) · 8:54 p.m. · 9:05 p.m.: · 9:12 p.m.: · 9:21 p.m.: · 9:28 p.m.: · 9:37 p.m.: · 9:47 p.m.: Norm Faria, stated his interest was the Planning Commission, but is open to any commission that Council feels is appropriate. Inez Fitzgerald, stated her interest is only in the Housing Authority. Cyrus Kon stated his interest is in the Historic Preservation, Parks & Recreation and Planning Commissions. David Taumoepeau, stated his interest is in the Parks & Recreation and Planning Commissions. Linda Loeffier (Personnel Board) stated, if not reappointed to the Personnel Board, would also be interested in the Planning and Parking Place Commissions. Anna Taumoepeau, stated her interest is in the Parks & Recreation Commission. Janine Greenwald (Parks & Recreation Commission) o Discussion and appointments to Historic Preservation Commission, Housing Authority, Parking Place Commission, Parks & Recreation Commission, Personnel Board and Planning Commission No action taken. 6.
