HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 04-2005RESOLUTION NO. 4-2005 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A $500 GRANT FROM THE WAL-MART FOUNDATION TO SUPPORT THE LIBRARY CHILDREN'S SERVICES' READER LEADER PROGRAM AND A $5,800 LIBRARY SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY ACT (LSTA) GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY TO SUPPORT PROJECT READ AND AMENDING THE LIBRARY DEPARTMENT'S OPERATING BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2004-g005 WHEREAS, staff recommends acceptance!of a $500 grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation to support the Library Children's Services' Reader Leader program and a $5,800 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the Califomial State Library to support Project Read; and WHEREAS, funds will be used to amend this year's operating budget of the Library Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby accepts a $500 grant from the Wal-Mart Foundation to support the Library Children's Services' Reader Leader program and a $5,800 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the California State Library to support Project Read and amends the 2004-2005 Operating Budget to add $6,300 to the Library Department's budget. I hereby certify that the foregoing ResolutiOn was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 12th day of January 2005 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Richard A. Garbarino, Pedro Gonzalez, and Karyl Matsumoto, Mayor Pro Tem Joseph A. Femekeis and Mayor Raymond L. Green NOES: None. , ABSTAIN: None. ABSENT: None. ATTEST: City Clerk /
