PRESENTATIONS
Report on proposed Grand Boulevard E1 Camino Real by Corinne Goodrich, Manager of
Special Projects, San Mateo County Transit District - a visual presentation was given
explaining the proposed Peninsula traffic corridor plan, that will link transportation and
economic development in San Mateo County.
Certificate of Appreciation: Keith Bush, sculptor- Councilwoman Matsumoto presented
the certificate to Mr. Bush, in recognition of his sculpture "Ponder" that was recently
purchased by the City and has been on display at the Sculpture Garden as a loan piece.
Cultural Arts Commissioners Alicia Gonzalez and Anthony Violanti were also present to
thank Mr. Bush.

PUBLIC COMMENTS
No changes.
Mr. Mike Henwood, resident, stated concern that the rights of bicyclists are being violated and
that motor vehicles have total disregard for bicyclists. He suggested a public awareness
program be initiated and that the police department be more cognizant of violators.
Councilwoman Matsumoto invited Mr. Henwood to participate on the City's bicycle committee.

Councilmembers reported on attendance at community events, announced upcoming events
and fundraisers, and acknowledged members of the community for their contributions.
Councilwoman Matsumoto reported on the recent Housing Subcommittee meeting
(Matsumoto/Femekes) to review the proposed Oak Avenue project.
Mayor Green reported on the Budget Subcommittee meeting (Green/Fernekes) that
reviewed the City's finances.
CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Motion to approve the minutes of December 8, 15 and 27, 2004
2. Motion to confirm expense claims of January 12, 2005 in the amount of $4,346,100.58

Motion to adopt Ordinance No. 1347-2005, amending SSFMC Section 3.12.010,
deleting Housing and Community Rehabilitation Specialist and adding Community
Development Coordinator
Resolution No. 1-2005, authorizing application for funds from the Bay Area Air Quality
Management District for the Solid Waste Collection Vehicle Retrofitting Program in the
amount of $44,100

Resolution No. 2-2005, awarding construction contract to CommAir Mechanical
Services for General Building Air Conditioning Retrofit Project in an amount not to
exceed $47,605
o
Resolution No. 3-2005, approving a budget appropriation of $80,000 from the
Conference Center Designated Capital Improvement Reserve to the FY 2004-2005
Capital Improvement Budget to fund the complete replacement of the water main
servicing to the Conference Center
o
Resolution No. 4-2005, accepting a $500 grant from Wal-Mart Foundation and a $5,800
Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the California State Library to
support Library programs
o
Resolution No. 5-2005, authorizing amendment to agreement with County of San Mateo
for animal control services
Resolution No. 6-2005, authorizing execution of agreement with Lamphier-Gregory for
preparation of environmental review documents for the former Georgia-Pacific site
located at 249 East Grand Avenue in the amount of$112,340

Resolution No. 7-2005, accepting donations from Brage Garafolo and Eloise Henderson
to purchase a thermal imaging camera in the amount of $14,700, and Genentech, Inc., to
purchase a graphics package to be mounted on the exterior of the Fire Department's
safety trailer, in the amount of $10,000
