SUBJECT: Elections - Entry of Statement of Election Results

Section 22933 of the Elections Code states as follows:
"As soon as the result of the election is declared,
the Clerk of the governing body shall enter on its
records a statement of the result. The statement
shall show: (a) the whole n, umber of votes cast in
the City, (b) the names of the persons voted for,
(c) the measures voted upon, (d) for what office
each person was voted for, (e) number of votes given
at each precinct to each person and for and against
each measure, (f) the number of votes given in the
City to each person and for and against each measure."
It is my opinion that this Code section requires t~at we
express the. se facts or this statement in the minutes.

MUNICIPAL ~ECTION held Tuesday, April 10~ 1962
I, Arthur A. Rodondi, City Clerk for the City of South San Francisco, hereby
certify as follows:
That the whole number of votes cast in said City of South San Francisco in
the general municipal election held April 10, 1962 is 5,591;
That the record of the votes cast at said municipal election iu favor of
the candidates, as shown by the official count at each of the several precincts
established throughout said City for said City Council for the purpose of con-
ducting said election, is as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, the same
being a tabulation of votes by precincts, and further tabulation of the absentee
ballots as determined by the official count and that said tabulations have been
duly verified as required by law including the examining of the totals for each
of the Council candidates on each of the Shoup voting machines used in said
municipal election and it was determined by such examination that the totals
submitted by the respective inspectors and judges of the precincts were exactly
as sho~m on said machines.
I further certify that immediately upon the close of the polls all remain-
lug ballots to be used by absentee voters were publicly destroyed -- being
numbers 009 to BOO, inclusive -- and further certify that a board comprised of
the following canvassed and declared the eight (8) absentee ballots received:

Notice is hereby given that at the general municipal election
to be held in the City of South San Francisco on Tuesday, the lOth
day of April, 1962, there shall be thirty-six (36) voting precincts
consisting of regular election precincts and consolidations of regu-
lar election precincts in the City of South San Francisco established
for the holding of state and county elections; that the polling ~aces
for the respective precincts shall be the places hereinafter desig-
