ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmembers Addiego, Nagales, Nicolas, Vice
Mayor Garbarino and Mayor Matsumoto.

Assistant City Manager Lee pulled items f and from the agenda due to Council's appointment of members
at the Special City Council meeting of February 25, 2019.

ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS
1. Report regarding Board and Commission interviews and appointments to the Housing
Authority, Library Board, Parks and Recreation Commission and Planning Commission.

C. Interview Applicant for Multiple Positions:

Parks & Recreation Commission)
Council interviewed applicant Umbertus.
d. Discussion and consideration of appointment of applicants to the Parks & Recreation
Commission. Council may appoint three (3) applicants to terms expiring December 31, 2022
and one (1) applicant to a term expiring December 31, 2020. Applicants: Battaglia, Bedigian,
Aires, Firpo, Elliot, Umbertus, Camacho. Council discretion-Sciandri. Previously interviewed
applicants: Denardi and Sanna.
Motion— Vice Mayor Garbarino/Second—Councilmember Nicolas to appoint Betty Battaglia, Stephen
Firpo, and Kristy Camacho to the Parks & Recreation Commission for terms expiring December 31, 2022.
Unanimously approved by roll call vote.
Motion— Councilmember Nicolas/Second—Councilmember Addiego to appoint Ruth DeNardi to the Parks
& Recreation Commission for a term expiring December 31, 2020. Unanimously approved by roll call
vote.
e. Discussion and consideration of appointment of applicants to the Planning Commission.
Council may appoint three (3) applicants to a term expiring December 31, 2022 and one (1)
applicant to a term expiring December 31, 2020. Applicants: Faria, Evans, Lucero, Lama,
Penna, Murphy.
Council discretion -Bernardo. Previously interviewed applicant: Sanna.
Motion— Vice Mayor Garbarino/Second—Councilmember Addiego to appoint Norm Faria, Michelle Evans,
and Julie Murphy to the Planning Commission for terms expiring December 31, 2022. Unanimously
approved by roll call vote.
Motion— Vice Mayor Garbarino/ Second - Councilmember Nicolas to appoint Robert Bernardo to the
Planning Commission for a term expiring December 31, 2020. Unanimously approved by roll call vote.
f. Discussion and consideration of appointment of applicant to the Housing Authority
Commission. Council may appoint one (1) applicant for a term ending March 31, 2023.
Applicant: Umbertus. Previously interviewed applicant: Abold.

g. Discussion and consideration of appointment of applicant to the Housing Authority Tenant
Commission. Council may appoint one (1) applicant to a term ending March 31, 2021.
Applicant: Umbertus.
Motion— Vice Mayor Garbarino/ Second - Councilmember Nicolas to appoint Marguerite Umbertus to the
Housing Authority Tenant Commission for a term expiring March 31, 2021. Unanimously approved by roll
call vote.
h. Discussion and consideration of appointment of applicant to the Library Board.
Council may appoint one (1) applicant to a term expiring June 30, 2022.
Applicant: Umbertus. Previously interviewed applicants: Zachariah and Huddleston.
