HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 99-2005 RESOLUTION NO. 99-2005 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $70,826.00 FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY TO PURCHASE WILDLAND FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT AND AMENDING THE 2005-06 OPERATING BUDGET WHEREAS, staff recommends the acceptance ofa grant in the amount of$70,826.00 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to purchase wildland firefighting equipment; and WHEREAS, the grant represents 80% of the total funding for the wildland equipment. Per FEMA regulations, the City is required to pay the remaining 20% cost of$17, 706.00. This amount is included in the Fire Departments 2005-06 budget (10-11710-4740). The funds will be used to amend this year's operating budget of the Fire Department. Receipt of these funds does not commit the City to ongoing support after th(~ close of the funding cycle. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that the City Council hen~by accepts a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the amount of $70,826.00 to purchase wildland firefighting equipment and amends the 2005-06 operating budget to reflect the budgeting allocations. * * * * * * I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council ofthe City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held on the 24th day of August, 2005 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Ric:hard A.
