CAPTAIN OF POLICE, LIm'NJTENANT OF POLICE,
/ AND SERGEANT OF POLICE IN THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND PRESCRIBING THE ".
E~TIES OF EAGH OF SUCH OFFICERS.
The city council ef the City ef South San Francisco do ordain
as follows:
Section l: The offices of captain of police, lieutenant of
police and sergeant of police are hereby created,' The rank of such
officers shall be subordinate to that of chief of police, and shall
be in the order in which said offices are named herein.
Section 2: Each of said offices may be filled by appoint-
merit to be made by said city council at such times as said city
council may determine. The persons, who may b~ appointed to such
ef£1ces, shell hold their respective offices during the pleasur~
of the city council.
S~c$ion S: Captains of police, lieutenants of police
sergeants of police shall perform such duties at ..~times
such places as may be required bY~.'maid city er ~he chief

Section 5: This ordinance shall be published by one (1)
lmsertion in -The Enterprise", a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and p~blished in said C~ity of South San Francisco and shall
take effect and be in force on the expiration of thirty (~0) days
following the date of its adoption.

Passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of South San
Francisco at a regular meeting of the city council of said city, this
