PRESENTATIONS
· Clergy Appreciation Month, October 2005 - Mayor Green presented Pastor Cantley
with a Certificate of Appreciation.
. Introduction of new and promoted employees
Finance Director Jim Steele introduced new employee, Colleen Tribbe, Financial
Analyst I. Human Resources Director Elaine Yamani introduced recently promoted
employee, Victoria Edwards, Human Resources Analyst II. Fire Chief Phil White
introduced new Paramedic/Firefighters, Johnathan Clay and Michael Hammons. Police
Chief Mark Raffaelli introduced new Police Reserves, Terence Bernal Silva, Ron
Clementi and Carlos Guzman; and Police Officers, Ed Markey, Robert Reynosa, and
John Bower.
. Recycle water program - City Engineer Ray Razavi introduced consultant, Mike
Britton, Carollo Engineers. Mr. Britton gave a visual presentation that covered the
project goals, potential capital costs, preferred alternatives, and benefits ofthe program.
. Annual Beautification Committee Awards - Beautification Committee Chair Jo Zemke
presented awards to:
o McDonalds, 381 Airport Boulevard, Ms. Wai-Ling Ng
o Peninsula Pines, 842 Antoinette Lane, Ms. Laura Reid
o Willow Gardens, Ms. Fran Wagstaff
o 715 Hill Avenue, Mr. David Rehn (not present)
o 831 Byron Drive, Mrs. Francisco Aguero
· Annual Day in the Park, report on September 24th event - Recreation and Community
Services Director Sharon Ranals gave a visual presentation of activities that occurred at
the 9th annual event.

City Manager Nagel requested Item No.6 be removed from the Agenda.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Mrs. Kamala Silva Wolfe, resident, stated disappointment that there is a possibility that
redevelopment funds will not be available for an additional parking lot on Grand A venue. She
asked that consideration be given to a sign at the entrance to Avalon Drive at Junipero Serra
Boulevard that the area is for local traffic only.

. Committee Reports
Councilmembers reported on attendance at community and regional events, announced
upcoming events and fundraisers, and acknowledged members of the community for their
contributions.
Mayor Pro Tern Fernekes reported that the Terrabay Phase III development subcommittee
(Fernekes/Matsumoto) and staff met with Myers Development on September 29 to discuss the
proposed development on San Bruno Mountain. The meeting was followed by a joint City
Council/Planning Commission meeting on October 5 to review and comment on the project. He
announced that the subcommittee is being expanded to include three members of the Planning
Commission.
Mayor Green informed the public that the City has an existing emergency preparedness plan
and it is being amended to include a specific multiple hazard disaster plan that is required by
FEMA.
CONSENT CALENDAR
1. Motion to approve the minutes of September 28, 2005
2. Motion to confirm expense claims of October 12, 2005 in the amount of$4,004,819.48
3. Resolution No. 110-2005, authorizing memorandum of understanding for a recycled
water project feasibility study with the City of San Bruno, San Francisco Public Utilities
Commission and California 'Water Service Company

4. Resolution No. 111-2005, authorizing acceptance of grants from the South San
Francisco Foundation in the amount of$1000 and the San Mateo Harley Owners Group
in the amount of $1 000, and appropriating the funds to the Fire Department budget for
use as part ofthe 2005 Toy Drive
5. Acknowledgement of proclamation issued: Genentech Goes to Town, 10/6/05
