ASpao'ital Meeting of the South San li'rancisoo Planning Commission was
haldd.n the City Hall , South San .E'rancisco t On vh{ednesday lv1ay 22 t 1940
at 8:00 p.m.
Present: Andrew Hynding, Chairman, Messrs. ill.P. Kauffmann, L. :Mar-
tinall!, A. Sani, G. DeNardi, A. J. Welte, U.S. lVlarshall, J. Vf. Oole-
berd, A. J. illsehalbaoh, and J. G. Walker, Seoretary.
Guests: Mr. F. l!'. Burrows, of the American Homes Ino., (G. 'vi. V1illiams
Co.) and Mr. C.T. Broughton, Civil Engineer with Earl VVife'y.
The meeting Was delvotad entirely to a diseussion of the proposEld
sub-division "Southwood"'; a portion of the California' Club! property
near~outh San Francisco.
The first sub-division comprises about 200 lots on which homes, will
be buil t at a cost of from ~2000 to $3500 complete (inoluding lot)..

walks, gutters, etc., the planning Commission told Mr. Burrows and
Mr. Broughton it could not recommend the sub-division for approval
unless the same al~sl of improvements were incorp.orated in this
proposed sub-division as ~re incorporated in the Hillside Boulevard,
and which were fully explained to these gentlelmn by City Engineer
lvIars~ll.
The quas tion of connecti ons to South San Franci sco Sewer System was
discussed, and the Planning Commission au. gges ted tha t lV1r. lv1arsha 11
figure outwha:t 'Would be r squired to be dona to taka care of any
sewage from S011thwood entering South San Franci sco sewers.' Mr.
Marshall and the gllests will figure on this and take same up with
Oi ty of South San Fr.>:tncisco at an early date.
.Meeting adjourned until next regular meeting which will be "vtCednasday,
June 5, 1940, at 8: 00 p.m.
