A Special meeting of the Planning Commission was held in the afternoon in the City Hall, on call of the chairman. Present Mr. As Hynding, chairman, ~essrs Martinelli, DeNardi,Welte, U.S. Marshall and J.G.. Walker, Secretary. P~posed Picnic Grounds-Town of Baden. The Secretary read a letter from the Baden Imp~vement Club in which it was stated "The Improvement Club of Baden was highly in favor of the Picnic Grounds of the Santo Cristo Soeiety". The Planning Commission after considering the letter from the Improvement Club approved the application of the Santo Cristo Society for a Picnic Grounds subject to all buildings to be erected thereon complying with the Building Restrictions and Regulation of South San Francisco. A regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called, for this date and there were present, Messrs Hynding, U.S. Marshall, A. Welte, A Sani, J .Vi. Coleberd, 0.'1'.. Broughton of the Southwood Tract, and Secretary J.W. Walker. As there was not a quorum present Chairman Hynding adjourned the meeting until Monday October 14th,l940 at Sp.m. Respextfullysubmitted, J.G. PJi1G. & E. Poles Fronting E.H. Edwards Property A letter was read from Mr. Stookey,Supt of theE.H. Edwards Co stating the P .G. & E. Company was going to ~:Pi,s:t:ell high tension power lines in front of the Edwards Company's property. These poles carrying power into the Western and Steel fS plant. Mr. Stookey stated the Construction ~e:partment P.G. & E. Company said these could be illldergrownd lf they had no other way, therefore he a.sked the Planning Commission to ask the South San Francisco City Counsil to request the P. G. & E. Company to place the lines under- ground, and thus avoid more unsightly poles in front of their propertYe Regularly moved and seconded and carri.ed unanimously, that the City Council request the P'. G. & E. Company to comply with the wishes of the E. H. Edwards Company Just as the meeting was adjourning Mr. Stookey of' the Edwards Campen;), apnea.red, &:, told the told the Cornmi ssion that the P. G. &. E. Company would put tne wires underground, therefore the resolution of' the Planning Commission was rescinded.. Mr. Stookey thanked the Planning Conl~ission for their co-operation and support.
