Recreation Center
Mr. Malstead stated as suggested by the Plarilling Commission he had interviewed
Mr. Jaeger regarding his property on Miller Ave, but he was not interested in selling
same ;11
Mr. Malstead on behalf of the recreation eommdssion submitted a proposition they
were considering from W.Shaw of the Land & Improvement Co. for a site just north
west of the High Sohool, r:[lennis courts and football field, they being offered one-
quarter of the whole piece consitsing of 3 41/100 acres for the sum of $6500.
There is an easement through same belonging to the St. Water Co., but it was the
general opinion this would in no way affect the interests of the recreation
commission plana, as lawns and playgrounds could be established on. same.
Recommended by Mr. Eschelbech, secon'ad by Mr. Welte and carried unanimously
that the Planning commission send a letter to the City Council recommending that
the Recreation Comrrdssion get an option for 30 days on the whole piece of land
(3 41/100). Just N.W" of the high schcPl, Tennis courts, and football field, for
a price of $6500, to be used for a recreation center. The recreation cOD"illlission

El Camino Be'a."! zoning for BusinARs
The above matter was brought and as property along the El Camino Real has not
been zoned it W8SY thought wise toiilnform the City Council that under the present
ordinance the property along the El Camimo Beal is zoned for residential property
only, and consideration should be given as to placing same inthe business district
zoning.
Gas Station corner of Baden & Linden Avenues
Mr. Eschelbach mentioned that a permit had been given the Standard Oil Co.
for a service station at the above location, and same had not been submitted to
the Planning Commission. It was decided that as this property was in the business
zone it was something beyond the control of the Planning Commission.
No further business comibng forward meeting adjourned.

Recreation center lot back of High school
Mr. :Rocea'submitted a report on the proposed recreation center property offered by
South San Francisco Land Co. Property has so many easements and restriction on same,
that it would not be at all suitable for the proposed recreation center.
];1 Camino Real-Ell ':~:ni'fii1S Zone
~~e above matter was riven long and serious consideration, and this brought 'up
the question of the whole zoning set-up in Sou~h SanFranciseo, and also that the type
of buildings to be erected in special zones should be classified so that anyone having
property in any zone would have no trouble getting the correct data as to the character
and type of building that could be erected. The Planning Corrnnission is of the opinion
that the whole zoning in SouthSan Francisco should be changed and altered so as to
meet the rapidly changing conditions in our growing community. Secretary was
instructed to write the City Council.
No further business conting forward meeting adjourned.
