REGULAR MEETING
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO PLANNING COMMISSION
MAY Ilth.1949..
Chairman Schaur called meeting to order at 8;eO P.M.
PRESENT: CHAIRMAN Schaur, Commissioner's Bracco, VOlonte,Maher,Barrett,
Zanetti, Ringue, Lautze, City Attorney Coleberd, Building Ins-
pector Rozzi, Advisor Wise.
ABSENT: NONE
Minutes of April 13th..1949 approved as mailed..
COMMUNICATIONS:
Letter from Richa~d Dolwig relative to hearings on the Trans..
Bay Crossings..
CO~~ITTEE REPORTS:
Bracco and Maher na!ned on committee of two for the re-naming
of Maple Avenue.
All members pla~ed on committee to study plans for the adopting
a Sub-Division Ordinance..
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Chairman Schaur declared the second Public Hearing open on
Resolution of intention of Planning Con~ission to Re-zone
Sterling Terrace NasI from R-A to R-l district..
It was regularly moved by Commissioner Bracco and seconded by
Commissioner Lautze that resolutbon be adopted and sent to City
Council for approval.
Roll call all voted aye..
. NEW BUSINESS:
Chairman Schaur called attention to the application of Nicola Re
to re-zone property on the corner of Locust & Miller Lots 28 &
27 BlocJr 95 e
On roll call all voted to set hearings on June 8the and July 13th..
Application for a Use Permit was made by Guilio Sciandra to allow
a duplex to be built at 751- Miller Avenue..
Regularly moved by commissioner Bracco and seconded by commissioner
Maher application be grantede
Roll call all voted aye.
Application made by James McFarland to allow construction of a
light frame and corrigated iron steel building for storage of a
construction supplies & equipment on parcel No.12 Zone U at Linden
& Railroad Avenues..
Mr.Rightnour a property onner living at 263 - Village Way which
bac]{s on this property made a protest, gave many reasons why permit
should not be granted, City Attorney commented he doubted that Plan
ing Commission could grant the permit due to the fact that said
property has been used as a thorough-fare for many years, he would
ta.ke up matter with the City Council a.t their next regular meeting,
Chair decided to.table application.
San FrancisEo Drive* In Theatres Corp. asked the approval of plac-
ing direction sighs on their propeEty, these signs will replace
signs now located here.
Motion Made by Commissioner Lautze and seconded by Commissioner
Zanetti, permit be granted.
Roll call all voted aye.
Application.made by Atlas Realty Co to He-Subdivide lots 1 to 9
inclusive..

Larry Wise advised the Commission had no legal right to gtant
this request according to the Master Plan all lots must be a
5000 square feet in area. Mr.Carl Gellert & Mr. Parsons appeared
in defense of their request. Sveral property owners were also
to protest the application.
Motion made by Commissioner Ringue and seconded by Commissioner
Barrett leter be written to the City Council the Commission is
without legal authority to grant the application because lots
are below the mininUID required by the Zoning Ordinancee

Tentative map for Sterling Terrace Sub*Division #1+ be approved
when Chase Randlett changes streets as directed b~ Commission.
Motion made by Commissioner Barrett and seconded by Comm$ssioner
Zanetti that Francisco Terrace Use permit for signs be extended
another 10-days.
Roll call all voted aye.
Meeting ajourned at 16;15 PeM.
SPECIAL MEETING HELD MAY 25th,,194ge
Meeting calle~ by Chairman Schaur for the purpose of Passing
a Petttion for Annexation of Country Club Parke
The Chair entertained a motion for adoption of the Annexation
as described in Resolution.
Motion made by Commissioner Barrett and seconded by Comnlissioner
Bracco.
Roll call all voted aye.
Application by Foster & Kleiser for a Use Permit to erect a sign
on Bayshore Blv'd for the San Mateo County Traffic Safety Comm-
ission. Secretaryinstructed to write letter to Frank Skillman,
Secretary of the San Mateo County Planning Commission on their
opinion on the matter and a statment of policy of their Commiss
on signs of this type.
Regularly moved and seconded meeting stand adjourned till Wes=
day July 13bh.1949.
