The City Council of the City of South San Francisco
d~es ordain as fellows:
Section 1. Ordinance, No. 10 of the City of South San
Francisco entitled: "An Ordinance Making It Unlawful To Throw,
Sweep or Deposit Rubbish, Garbage, Tin Cans, Refuse of Filth
Into or Upon Roads, Alleys, Streets or, Private .Premises Within
the City of South San Francisco",'adopted December-14, 1 908,
is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section to be numbered,
1-a. and to read as follows:
Section 1-a. Notwithstanding anything herein provided,
it shall be lawful for any person'to place lawn'trimmings in boxes
or cartons and shrubbery cuttings' in securely bound bundles upon
any public street or thoroughfare in said city, in order that such
lawn trimmings and shrubbery cuttings~ay be removed by the street
department of said city. Th~ .tim~s when such lawn trimmings and
shrubbery cuttings may be placed upon'any'public street or highway
in said city shall be such as said ~city council may,' from time to
time, fix by resolution. Ail boxes or cartons of lawn trimmings''
and bundles of cuttings shall be placed between the curbing and
sidewalk, or near the curbing, or near the edge of the thorough-
fare, where there is no intervening space between curbing and side-
walk, and where there is no sidewalk, at such timeSand at no other
times. No container of any kind shall exceed ~thirty (30) gallons
in capacity. The contents of no container exceeding thirty (30)
gallons in capacity will be removed from any street or thoroughfare.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published
by one (1) insertion in the South San Francisco Journal, a
ne.wspaper of general circulation published in said city, and
shall take effect and be in force upon the expiration of
thirty (30) days folloWing the date of.~,~ ~ ~ adoption.

of South San Francisco at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of South San Francisco, this ~ay of
