HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 129-2005 RESOLUTION NO. 129-2005 CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH CORA SUPPORT SERVICES TO PROVIDE $20,000 CDBG COMMERCIAL REHABILITATION FUNDS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CORA SHELTER WHEREAS, CORA (Communities Overcoming Relationship Abuse) is the only agency in San Mateo County that provides emergency and transitional housing for victims of domestic violence; and WHEREAS, CORA provides emergency shelter and transitional housing to South San Francisco women and children that are victims of domestic viiolence; and WHEREAS, CORA's shelter, known as Lisa's House, is not accessible to people with disabilities and must refer clients with disabilities to shelters outside of the County; and WHEREAS, CORA wishes to upgrade their shelter to increase capacity and make it ADA compliant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of City of South San Francisco that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement with CORA Support Services to provide $20,000 from CDBG Commercial Rehabilitation funds to improve CORA's shelter to meet the needs of disabled clients and residents of South San Francisco. * * * * * I hereby certifY that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regullar meeting held on the 14th day of December 2005 by the following vote: AYES: Councilmembers Mark N.
