HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 338-1953 ORDINANCE NO. 338 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 317, WHEREBY SAID CITY ADOPTED THE 1949 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE. The City Council of the City of South San Francisco does ordain as follows: Section 1. That certain ordinance adopted by said city on the ~th day of May, 1951, and entitled: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ADOPTING THE UNIFORM BUILD- ING CODE 1949 EDITION", is hereby amended by inserting, in Section l, after the expression "UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 19~9 EDITION" the phrase "including the provisions set forth in the Appendix thereof". As amended, said. Section i shall read as follows: Section 1. That certain Building Code known and designated as "UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 19~9 EDITION" including the provisions set forth in the Appendix thereof", but subject to modifica- tion as hereinafter provided, together with Volume II, Uniform Building Code Standards, 19~9 Edition, is hereby adopted for the purpose of regulating the construction of buildings within said City of South San Francisco, three (3) copies of said Uni- form Building Code a~d said Volume II having been filed for use and examination by the public in the office bf the City Clerk of said City of South San Francisco. Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be urgent and necessary for the immediate preservation of the public,peace, health, and safety and shall take effect and be in force forthwith from and after its final passage and approval. The following is a statement of such urgency: '~ne ehforcement of the rules and regulations governing the construction and repair of buildings, as specified in the Appendix to the aforementioned UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 19~9 EDITION, is necessary to protect life and property in the City of South San Francisco from fire hazards, and, therefore, such rules and regulations should become effective immediately. --1-- 'Section ~, This ordinance shall be published once and shall take effect and be in force after the expiration of thirty (30) days after its adoption. Introduced this 20th day of April, 1953.
