Amin Frank Addiego William Costanzo MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of May 14, 1974 Commissioner Tegliaasked that there .should be mention in UP-272 that the residents opposing this item and having drainage problems were to get together with Norpen Development and the City Staff to work out some solution to the problem. The staff is to notify all parties concerned. In the Good and Welfare item Commissioner Raffaelli stated that the staff is to report back to the Planning Commission the outcome of the meeting regarding UP~272. Commissioner Slade moved that the minutes of the regular meeting of the South San Francisco Planning Commission of May 14, 1974 be approved with the above additions. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Lazzari and was passed by the following roll call vote: AYES: Vice Chairman Hale, Commissioners Lazzari, Mullin, Raffaelli, Slade and Teglia Chairman Mathewson None None ABSTAINED: NOES: ABSENT: ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING TAPE RECORDING OF MEETING Chairman Mathewson announced that this meeting of the South San Francisco Planning Commission would be recorded on tape, but that anyone who wished to come before the Commission to be heard, but who objected to having his or her voice recorded in this manner, could request the Chairman to order the tape recorder turned "off" for the duration of the time that he or she is speaking or is heard. - 3293 - UP-278 May 28, 1974 UP-278, request from Fred Young to permit the construction of a single family residence in the PC District, to be located at the southwest corner of Cashlea Court and Callan Boulevard. Secretary Martin read the staff report into the record. Proponent: Fred Young 633 Serra Drive South San Francisco, California The matter regarding a soils report from a registered Civil Engineer; and thei[\Jioi:n7fs.'that the residence was not to have facilities to install a future additional kitchen were discussed. Commissioner Lazzari moved that the Planning Commission adopt the staff report and approve UP-278, upon the condition that the applicant comply with the requirements of the City Engineer, Fire Department and other department and division heads. The motion was seconded by Vice Chairman Hale and was passed unanimously. PM-119 PM-119, a request of Cabot, Cabot & Forbes to resubdivide land located south of Grandview Drive and west of Pt. San Bruno Boulevard - Lots 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 12 and 13. Block 2, Cabot, Cabot & Forbes Industrial Park No.3. (Continued from May 14, 1974 meeting} Secretary Martin stated that the applicant has requested this item be continued to June 11, 1974 Planning Commission meeting. Commissioner Lazzari moved that PM-119 be continued to June 11, 1974 meeting. Commissioner Mullin seconded the motion which was passed unanimously. REPORTS City Council Urgency Ordinance Regarding Housing Authority Lands. (Continued from April 23, 1974 meeting) Proponents: Mark Senaldi, Vice Chairman Housing Authority of the City of South San Francisco 351 "C" Street, SSF Ernest Oresti, Chairman Housing Authority of the City of South San Francisco, SSF Lucien Caron, Executive Director Housing Authority of the City of South San Francisco, SSF This item was discussed in detail. The Housing Authority officials stated that ~he present proposal is for the construction of 40 units and the ratio of various - 3294 - REPORTS (~ontinued) May 28, 1974 bedroom units and square footage represent HUD requirements. Secretary Martin stated that City zoning would permit the construction of from 40 to 48 units on the property and this was concurred to unanimously by the Planning Commission. If the Housing Authority wishes to place more units on the property, an application will have to be filed to rezone the property from R-l to R-2 and developed as a Planned Unit Development. This would permit the construction of additional units in the near future. The widening of "C" Street and connecting "C" Street with "B" Street was also discussed. The Director of Public Services, Frank Addiego, suggested that if the Planning Commission desired, the staff can present the A, B, C Street proj ect .at June 11, 1974 Planning Commission meeting. The members of the Planning Commission concurred with this suggestion. Resolution commending Eugene Mullin for his outstanding performance as Planning Commission Chairman Secretary Martin read the following Planning Commission Resolution No. 2144 into the record. RESOLUTION NO. 2144 "RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO COMMENDING EUGENE MULLIN FOR HIS OUTSTANDING AND DEDICATED SERVICES AS MEMBER AND CHAIRMAN OF THE PLANNING COM:MISS ION. WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco Planning Commission commends Eugene Mullin for his professional and dedicated services to the com- munity of South San Francisco, and WHEREAS, Eugene Mullin has represented the citizens of South San Fran- cisco, and provided this citizenry with sound, comprehensive planning decisions that have promoted the development of a more desirable living environment, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recognizes the abilities and leader- ship qualities of Eugene Mullin and wish to express its appreciation during the period of August 7, 1972 to June 11, 1973 as a Commissioner, and during the period of June 25, 1973 to May 14, 1974 as Chairman to the Planning Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED" that the Planning Commission of the City of South San Francisco does hereby express their appreciation to Eugene Mullin for his dedicated and outstanding services as Chairman of the planning Commission of tILe City of South San Francisco." Commissioner Lazzari moved that the above Resolution commending Eugene Mullin be adopted. The motion was seconded by Vice Chairman Hale and passed unanimous ly . - 3295 - GOOD AND WELFARE, OTHER AND CO:MMUNICATIONS May 28, 1974 Commissioner Teglia stated she recei.ved a letter opposing the proposed shopping center submitted by Sutter Hill Development Company. The letter was given to one of the City Staff members present to pass on to the Planning Staff. Secretary Martin stated that the Planning Office has received a letter from the EIR consultant for the shopping center that the report is not ready for the June 11, 1974 meeting. Secretary Martin indicated that the shopping center item could be continued to the June 25, 1974 Planning Commission meeting assuming that the ErR consultant had completed the addendum for dis- tribution at least two weeks prior to the Planning Commission meeting. Commissioner Teglia suggested that the residents be notified regarding the progress of the shopping center item. There being nothing further to be considered under Good and Welfare, and there being no further communications or other matters of interest for the Planning Commission, Chairman Mathewson announced that the next regular meeting of the South San Francisco Planning Commission would be held on June 11, 1974 at 8: 00 p. m. in the West Orange Library Auditorium, South San Francisco, California.
