ORDINANCE NO. 352
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF BURI BURI NO. 3 TO THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO
The City Council of .the City of South San Francisco
does ordain as follows:
WHEREAS the city council of the City of South San
Francisco did, prior to the ~.3rd day of June, 1953, receive a
written petition from BARRETT & HILP DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, a
corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State
of California, to annex to said City of South San Francisco
the uninhabited territory hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS the territory hereinafter described is
the territory sought, in said petition, to be included in
said City of South San Fra~cisco and is in fact uninhabited ter-
ritory and is contiguous to said City of South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of June, 1953, said city
council did pass its certain resolutien giving notice of the
proposed annexation of the uninhabited territory hereinafter
described to said City of South San Francisco and did, in said
resolution, fix Thursday, the 23rd day of July, 1953, at the.
hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chamber in the City
Hall of said City of South San Francisco, as the time and place
when and where any persons owning real property within the
territory hereinafter described, and so proposed to be annexed,
and having any objections to the proposed annexation of said
territory may appear before said city council and show cause
why said territory should not be so annexed, which hearing was
continued until Wednesday, the 29th day of July, 1953, at the
hour of 3:00 p.m., and did, in said resolution, find that said

BARRETT & HILP DEVELOPMENT COMPANY is the owner of land comprising
more than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the territory hereinafter
described and representing more than one-fourth (1/4) of the
assessed value of said territory, according to the last preceding
equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo; and said city
council did, in said resolution direct that the city clerk of said
city cause a copy of said resolution to be published ome a week for
twO (2) successive weeks at least 20 days prior to the 23rd day
of July, 1953, in the SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ENTERPRISE-JOURNAL, a
weekly, newspaper of general circulation published in said City of
South San Francisco, and in the ADVANCE STAR, a newspaper of
general circulation published and circulated in the County of San
Mateo, in which county the territory hereinbefore referred to is
located;
WHEREAS said resolution was published in said SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO ENTERPRISE-JOURNAL on the following dates: June 25,
1953 and July 2, 1953; and in the ADVANCE STAR on the following
dates: June 25, 1953 and July 2, 1953.
WHEREAS no person has filed or made any wri~enor
other protest against the annexation of said territory, or any part
thereof, to said City of South San Francisco;
NOW, THEREFORE, said city council does ordain as
follows:
Section 1. Said city council does hereby determine
that BARREPT& HILP DEVELOPMENT COMPANY is the owner of land
comprising more than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the territory
hereinafter described and representing more than one-fourth (1/4)
of the assessed value of said territory, according to the last
preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo, and
that said land is in fact uninhabited territory and is contiguous
to said City o£ South San Francisco.

Section 2. Said city council does hereby approve the
annexation to Mid City of South San Francisco of the following
described territory, situate in the County of San Mateo, State of
California, to be known as "BURI BURI NO. 3".
BEGINNING at an angle point on the present corporate
limits line of the City of South San Francisco, said
angle point' being on the Southwesterly p~longation of
the Northwesterly line of Sterling ~anor, as shown on
a map recorded in Book 31 of ~aps at Pages 49 and 50, San
Mateo County Records, distant thereon 155.08 feet from
the most Westerly corner of Lot 1, Block 8', of said
Sterling Manor; thence South 26' 06' 23" East along said
present corporate limits line, a distance of 2199.01 feet;
thence North 85° 10' West 67.24 feet; thence South 74°
43" West 121.53 ~eet;' thence South 67° 20' 35~' West 149.08 feet;
thence South 33° 10' 38" West 190.78 feet; thence SQuth
27~ 00' 05" West 176.79'feet; thence South 88° 32' 20"
West 127.97 feet; thence North 80° 11' West 320.00 feet;
thence North 60° 48'43" East 22.95 feet; thence North
24° 07' 08" West 473.67 feet; thence South 70° 57' West 396.00
feet to the Westerly property line of Junipero Serra
Boulevard; thence North 19° 03' West 1040.33 feet along
said Westerly line to the present corporate limits line of
the City of South San Francisco; thence North 40° 13' 36"
East 1345.93 feet along said present corporate limits line
to the point of beginning.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published
once, and shall take effect and be in force upon the expiration
of thirty (30) days following its adoption.

South San Francisco at an adjourned meeting
of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
this 28th day of June , 195~, by the
