AN O~DINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF "KIISKI ADDITIO~ TO
THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
The City Council of the City of South San Francisco does
ordain as follows:
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Fran-
cisco did, prior to the 6th day of June, 1955, receive a written
petition from PAUL KIISKI and SENIA MARIE KIISKI to annex to said
City of South San Francisco the uninhabited territory hereinafter
described; and
WHEREAS the territory hereinafter described is the territory
sought, in said petition, to be included in said City of South San
Francisco and is in fact uninhabited territory and is contiguous to
said City of South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, on the 6th day of June, 1955, said City Council
did pass its certain resolution giving notice of the proposed annexa-
tion of the uninhabited territory hereinafter described to said City
of South San Francisco and did, in said resolution, fix Monday, the
llth day of July, 1955, at the hour of 7;30 o'clock P. M., in the
Council Chamber in the City Hall of said City of South. San Francisco,
as the time and place when and where any persons owning real property
within the territory hereinafter described, and so proposed to be
annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation of said
territory may appear before said City Council and show cause why said
territory should not be so annexed, and did, in said resolution, find
that said PAUL KIISKI and SENIA MARIE KIISKI, his wife, arethe owners
of land comprising more than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the
territory hereinafter described and representing more than one-fourth
(1/4) of the assessed value of said territory, according to the last
preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo; and
said City Council did, in said resolution, direct that the City Clerk
of said City cause a copy of said resolution to be published once a
week for two (2) successive weeks at least twenty (20) days prior to
the llth day of July, 1955, in the South Sawn Francisco Enterprise-
Journal, a. weekly newspaper of general circulation published in said
City of South San Francisco, and in the Advance-Star, a newspaper of
general circulation published and circulated in the County of San
Ma. teo, in which county the territory hereinbefore referred to is
located; and
WHEREAS said resolution was published in said South San
Francisco Enterprise-Journal on the following dates: June 9, 1955
and June 16, 1955; and in the Advance-Star on the following dates:
June 9, 1955 and June 16, 1955; and
WHEREAS ~-~ person~ ha~ filed or made written or
other protest against the annexation of said territory, or any part
thereof, to said City of South San Francisco,
NOW, THEREFORE, said City Council does ordain as
follows:
Section 1. Said City Council does hereby determine that
PAUL XIISKI and SENIA MARIE KIISKI, his wife, are the owners of land
comprising more than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the territory
hereinafter described and representing more than one-fourth (1/4) of
the assessed value of said territory, according to the last preceding
equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo, and that said
land is in fact uninhabited territory and is contiguous to said City
of South San Francisco.
.~ Section 2. Said City Council declares any and all protests
against such annexation to be overruled and does approve, and does
hereby order~ the annexation to said City of South San Francisco of
the following described territory, situate in the County of San Mateo,
State of California~ to be known as "KIISKI ADDITIOn':
BEGINNING at a point which lies North 31° 15' West
472.00 feet from the most northerly corner of Lot 3
in Block Lettered "~', as said lot and block are
shown on "Map No. 1 Country Club Park", filed in the
office of the Recorder of the County of San Mateo, in
Book 23 of Maps at pages 54-55 and 56; which said
point of beginning is the southeasterly corner of the
parcel of land described in the deed to Jack C. and
Mildred E. Homer recorded October 28, 1944 in
Volume 1152 of Official Records of San Mateo County at
Page 46 (30110F); and is also the northerly corner of
Lot 1, Block 1, as shown on that certain map entitled
"Avalon Park" recorded July 7, 1949 in Volume 30 of
Maps at pages 32, 33 and 34 San Mateo County Records;
thence along the southerly line of said Homer parcel
and the northerly line of said Avalon Park, which said
line is also the common boundary line between the City
of South San Francisco and the County of San Mateo,
South 59° 00' West 52.55 feet; and South 86' 20' West
15.92 feet; thence leaving said City boundary line,
northeasterly along a curve to the right with a radius
of 230 feet from a radial line bearing North 56e 39'
54" West, an arc distance of 69.85 feet to the north-
easterly line of said Hornet parcel of land; thence
along said northeasterly line North 31e 17' 40" West
(given as North 31e 15' West in said deed) 384.08 feet
to the southeasterly line of lands now or formerly
owned by the California Golf Club of San Francisco;
thence along said last mentioned line North 55~ 07'
30" East 162.70 feet; thence leaving said line South
31* 55' 45" East 422.77 feet to said boundary line
between the City of South San Francisco and the County
of San Mateo; thence along said boundary line South
59* 00' West 167.39 feet to the point of beginning.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published once, and shall
take effect and be in force upon the expiration of thirty (30) days
following its adoption.

Passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of
South San Francisco at a regular
meeting of.the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
this 18th day of July, 1955, by.the following vote:

The foregoing ordinance is hereby approved by me, as
Mayor of the City of South San Francisco, this f/ day of
