AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
APPRO¥ING T~ ~~TION OF "SUNSHINE GA~ENS NO.
9" TO T~ CITY OF SO~H S~ F~NCIS~.
The City Council of the City of South San Francisco does
ordain as follows:
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
did, prior to the llth day of July, 1955, receive a written petition
from PACIFIC COOAST CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, a corporation, to annex to
said City of South San Francisco the uninhabited territory herein-
after described; and
WHEREAS the territory hereinafter described is the territory
sought, in said petition, to be included in said City of South San
Francisco and is in fact uninhabited territory and is contiguous to
said City of South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, on the llth day of July, 1955, said City Council did
pass its certain resolution giving notice of the proposed annexation of
the uninhabited territory hereinafter described to said City of South
San Francisco and did, in said resolution, fix ~onday, the 15th day of
August, 1955, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P. '~o, in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall of said City of South San Francisco, as the
time and place when and where any persons owning real property within
the territory hereinafter described, and so proposed to be annexed,
and having any objections to the proposed annexation of said territory
may appear before said City Council and show cause why said territory
should not be so annexed, and did, in said resolution, find that said
PACIFIC COAST CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, a corporation, is the owner of land
comprising more than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the territory
hereinafter described and representing more than one-fourth (1/4) of
the assessed value of said territory, according to the last preceding
equalized assessment roll of the County of San lateo; and said City
Council did, in said resolution, direct that the City Clerk of said
City cause a copy of said resolution to be published once a week for
two (2) successive weeks at least twenty (20) days prior to the 15th
day of August, 1955, in the South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, a
weekly newspaper of general circulation published in said City of
South San Francisco, and in the Advance-Star, a newspaper of general
circulation published and circulated in the County of San ~ateo, in
which county the territory hereinbefore referred to is located; and
WHEREAS said resolution was published in said S~uth San
Francisco Enterprise-Journal on the following dates: July 14, 1955
and July 21, 1955; and in the Advance-Star on the following dates:
July 14, 1955 and July 21, 1955; and
WHE~AS ~ person ha~ filed or Lade written or
other protest against the annexation of said territory, or any part
thereof, to said City of South San Francisco,
NOW~ TH~REFORN~ said City Council does ordain-as follows:
Section 1. Said City Council does hereby deteraine that
PACIFIC COAST CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, a corporation, is the owner of
land coaprising more than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the territory
hereinafter described and representing more than one-fourth (1/4) of
the assessed value of said territory, according to the last preceding
equalized assessment roll of the County of San Yateo, and that said
land is in fact uninhabited territory and is contiguous to said City
of South San Francisco.
Section 2. Said City Council declares any and all protests
against such annexation to be overruled and does approve, and does
hereby order, the annexation to said City of South San Francisco of
the following described territory, situate in the County of San ~ateo,
State of California, to be known as "SUNSHINE GAI~DNNS NO. 9":

BEGINNING at a point at the most westerly corner of
Lot 3 in Block 219 as said Lot and Block are designated
on the map entitled "~AP OF THE LANDS OF THE ABBEY
HOMESTEAD ASSOCIATION~, which map was filed in the
Office of the Recorder of the County of San Mateo~
State of California, on January 2, 1872 in Book 15 of
Deeds at Page 23 and a copy entered in Book 1 of Maps
at Page 14; thence from said point of beginning South-
easterly along the southwesterly and southeasterly
boundary line of the "MAP OF THE LANDS OF THE ABBEY
HOMESTEAD ASSOCIATION' and along the corporate limit
line of the City of South San Francisco the following
courses and distances: South 55' 36' 04" East 815.30
feet and North 17' 24' 26" East 104.57 feet to the
southwesterly line of Hillside Boulevard; thence
leaving the boundary line of the above mentioned map
and the corporate limit line of South San Francisco
and running along the southwesterly line of Hillside
Boulevard north 55' 36' 04" West 784.75 feet to the most
northerly corner of Lot 3 in Block 219 of the above
mentioned map; thence leaving the southwesterly line of
Hillside Boulevard and running along the northwesterly
line of Lot 3 Block 219 South 34' 23' 56" West 100 feet
to the point of beginning.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published once, and
shall take effect and be in force upon the expiration of thirty (30)
days following its adoption.

Passed and adopted as an ordinance of the City of South
San Francisco at a n adjourned regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
this 29th day of August, 1955, by the following vote:

The foregoing ordinance is hereby approved by me, as Mayor
